Toyota to recall 167 units of hybrid Prius in India.

The recall has been announced due to a software error in the hybrid system that makes it enter a fail safe mode. Globally this affects 1.9 million units.

All Prius sold here fall in this recall.

Hi @mpksuhas

This, as mentioned by @volkman10 consists of all 167 Prius cars sold in India, & cars manufactured after March 2009 to date. Basically, the recall is due to faulty programming of control software in the car's hybrid system, which may cause the system to shut down & the vehicle might stop. However, it is more likely that the defect could set off warning lights, with the car driving with reduced power.
