In a bid to garner more customers for its Nano, Tata Motors has tied up with car rental company Carzonrent for launching the Myles City-Drive initiative in Delhi-NCR.

Quote:

Car rental firm Carzonrent and Tata Motors have inked a pact to launch an initiative in the Delhi/NCR region, under which customers would be able to hire a Tata Nano car for self drive at just Rs 399 per day.

Under the initiative, Delhi-based Carzonrent would also offer the Nano cars to customers on a hourly basis at Rs 99 and also for a whole month at a rent of Rs 6,999.
The self-drive concept promotes car sharing or usage based on requirement and would be a more economical option than owning and maintaining a car. In case of break downs, the Nano Twist would be serviced at Tata dealerships.

RATES:
-Rs. 99/Hr. (Fuel Included)1Hour(s)/10Kms Rs 99.00; ExtraKm: Rs.6.00
-Rs. 399/Day with Unlimited KM

clap:Brilliant! IMO this would help people know how amazing the car feels within city.

Any clue if any particular distance is allowed with the basic day rate, or is it simply for 24 hrs.

Anyway, both ways its a great offer!

Edit
: P.S. : Not to beat my own drums, but I've been harping in the forum for things like these to be done to promote the nano since a LONG time now.

Awesome and a very innovative idea. Hopefully they do launch this service in other parts of the country as well.

I am sure there would be deposits along with the rental tariff and also a cap on the number of KM that it can be run.

Good initiative, to garner more sales going forward.
I hope it doesn't go e2o way of Carzonrent. I was waiting for Mumbai launch of e2o, it never saw light of the day.

Great idea! Rs 399 per day with unlimited kms is so affordable!

I hope a lot more folks will get a first hand experience of this little wonder and appreciate it more (thereby helping more acceptance turning into new sales too)!
Hope they launch this in Bangalore soon!

Pricing per hour is completely wrong - 99/hr for a nano pales in comparison to what zoom offers which is <100 for the figo, vento and City (albeit on weekdays)

399/ day with unlimited kms, am guessing, will involve paying for the fuel, this is a vfm proposition in case one is planning to do a bit of driving around the city

This is a terrific deal for hassled commuter dependent on cheaper options like autos. It seems VFM. With the kind of daily traffic in the city being harrowing to say the least, nick and touch would be expected. what would be the policy on that?

I guess the 1 hour clause is only for a distance of 10 kms, in which fuel is included for 99rs.

You are spot on. You will need to pay for fuel apart from the rent.

True that but honestly I'd any day go for a Nano twist over any of the cars you mentioned for city driving. It's simply a breeze to drive and parking would never be a problem. Mahindra e2o would also have been an interesting offering. More and more people would've driven the car and realised how perfect and practical it is for use within the city and maybe hopefully mahindra would've had better sales. One can only hope though.

Thanks
Sunny

Are the nano's only restricted to be driven within delhi ncr limits or can be rented to go to say agra ?

This is brilliant! even if it means, I have to pay for the fuel, it still works out cheaper than renting a taxi for that period.

What about the Pick up & drop location?

Wouldn't this Initiative make sense only for people in, say, a 2 km radius of the shop?

But I am really happy that such experiments are being tried in Indiaclap:

Some more information:
1. 43 pick up location across NCR
2. You need to drop the car at the location of pick up :Frustrati
3. Monthly option available @ INR 6999.00, :thumbs up

It seems TATA 'Ke achhe din aa gayee"
Lets hope the service is extended to Bangalore, it will give some relief to exorbitant taxi & bus fare for Airport provided they have pickup & drop point @ Airport

I believe Zoom cars already does offer Mahindra E2O- don't they? I do remember seeing one on their website.

Nano is a good entry into the self-driven rental world, though I would like to see them extend this to all the major cities. Bangalore, for instance, has a solid market for such cars- especially on weekends.
