Jaguar XF 'Executive Edition' launched at Rs 45.12 Lakh

Jaguar has just launched the XF 2.2L diesel in a new variant named the 'Executive Edition' at Rs 45.12 Lakh (Ex-showroom Mumbai). The XF Executive Edition is a more affordable variant of the XF 'Luxury' trim which costs around Rs 4.25 Lakh more. The Executive Edition features a navigation system, full size spare wheel & full colour touch screen. It also gets interior mood lighting, electronic front seats and power-fold exterior mirrors.

Compared to the Luxury variant, the 'Executive Edition' loses out on features like the seat memory function, reverse parking camera, seat away function, electric sunroof, television tuner and 'premium' mood lighting system. The XF Executive Edition shares its engine & transmission with the Luxury trim. The sedan is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that makes around 188 bhp @ 3,500 rpm & 450 Nm of torque @ 2,000 rpm. Transmission duties are carried out by an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Jag joins the low-entry ticket bandwagon to its XF range. just like Audi does with its "business editions" and what not.

The number of Jaguars has been consistently increasing on our roads. This move will only help them increase those numbers. Waiting for them to launch there entry level sedan now rivaling the 3/C/A4.

For some weird reason, I happen to notice more of Jaguar XJs on the road than the XFs. Any data on the same?

I don't have any data at hand, but these are my thoughts.

I just think the XF is just too old a car in the segment and hence losing some of its appeal. The E-Class and 5-Series are so much newer. Even the space inside the XF is lesser than its rivals - something the chauffeur-driven are not going to be impressed with.

The XJ on the other hand has more than enough space and is the cheapest-in-class full-sized sedan. Probably this is the reason it sells more.

While the new edition has a mouth watering price tag which could challenge even the new C, wouldn't a buyer from C/3/A4 segment have to suffer the much higher cost of maintenance of the Jag? Say for example, wear and tear items that require renewals like brake pads would be of the same spec.? That has to be same for the most expensive XF as well as this edition. Would be good for the buyers of this edition if that's not true.

This variant comes with Fabric Seats apparently, after paying 50 lakhs!
Always liked the looks of the XF, only thing i don't like are the alloys offered on these variants!

Re: Jaguar XF 'Executive Edition' launched at Rs 45.12 Lakh

I test rode in a XF 2.2L few days back and was unimpressed with it. It just feels too old a car compared to the BMW & Merc. The interiors too were not to my taste. A bit too boring for me. What they need is a all new XF now.

This particular Executive variant is pretty well equipped and doesn't lose out much on features. Any idea on price difference between the Executive & luxury variants? I don't think this new variant is going to do anything for the XF sales. Jaguar needs to bring in the some glamour to their marketing to get people to notice them and they have a chance to do that with the new XE. By 2016 when the XE is launched they may have to battle it out with the new A4 over here and we all know how aggressive Audi is in India so Jaguar need to understand that & give the XE a blockbuster launch.
