Mercedes imports S63 AMG Coupe - What's cooking?

Mercedes appears to have brought in the S-Class coupe in India, in the S63 AMG guise.

But, as the S63 is possibly waived from undergoing homologation, it cannot be confirmed yet whether the launch is imminent.

There is one already delivered down south in an awesome blue color and it also has magic body control! Apparently MB figured out a way to offer that feature without radar use needed now.

Breaks my heart seeing that this beauty is having a invoice value of only INR 44L but will be priced nothing less than INR 2 Cr.

Yep. As per Cityvic's post in the other thread, they've now stopped using radar to calibrate the system.

Yes, they are now using Stereo cameras instead of a radar. Source:

LIDAR was just too expensive and never made it beyond the concept stage.

The S-Class Magic Body Control always used stereo cameras. The radar was used to calibrate the whole system.
