Jaguar Land Rover opens Parts Distribution Centre near Mumbai

Jaguar Land Rover India has opened a new Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) at Bhiwandi, near Mumbai. This facility is spread over 70,000 square feet and has regionally-optimised inventory supporting both Jaguar and Land Rover brands. It is controlled by Jaguar Land Rover's central Inventory Management team.

For safety, the facility is equipped with a fire-fighting system aided by a smoke detection apparatus, which the company claims, is more sensitive than a conventional system. The PDC also has in-rack sprinklers in addition to overhead sprinklers.

The facility will also have an on-site, customer service team which will provide local customer service support. With the PDC, Jaguar Land Rover will attempt to improve the regional supply chain velocity.

I really hope this will improve the parts situation, as most parts don't seem to be in stock with JLR India, and a long waiting period ensues. Not to mention ridiculous prices for most parts.

This is certainly a step in the right direction, but the men standing in the picture need to get their act together when it comes to India after sales.
