Uttar Pradesh: Car & bike registration charges hiked to 10%

As per reports in Motorbeam, new cars costing above 10 lakhs and new two wheelers costing above Rs 40,000 will be charged with 10% of the cost of the vehicle as registration charges.

Is this different than the LTT we pay when we register the new vehicle? Hope it is not.
Well, I still think 10% a very decent amount, considering that it is 17% for the vehicles costing 10 - 20 L in Karnataka.
