Mercedes-Benz has announced that Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, will move to a new role in Europe from October 1, 2015. Roland S. Folger, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia will take over as the head of the company's India operations.

Under Eberhard Kern's Mercedes-Benz nearly doubled its sales during the 2012-2015 period. The company has also expanded its production capacity product portfolio and network in India. Mercedes-Benz recorded its best sales year ever in India when it sold 10,201 cars in the January - December 2014 period.

Roland S. Folger is a Mercedes-Benz veteran for over three decades. He has held several positions in Ssles departments for Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars and Commercial Vehicles with responsibility for the SEA region. He was appointed Vice President for Sales, Marketing and After Sales at MBUSI in Tuscaloosa, where he was part of the team that introduced the first M-Class in the USA.

In 2006, he joined Mercedes-Benz Vans division as Head of Product Management and Marketing Communication and two years later took over the responsibility for worldwide Sales Vans in September 2008. Effective March 1st, 2011, Mr. Folger was appointed President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia.
