Probably the first niggle reported on this thread.

My dad bought the ZXI+ variant in Red about a week back. Not driven extensively, just about a 20-30 km drive everyday around Mysore.
One issue he is facing sometimes is - while the engine is idling, the engine loses steam and just switches off. Press the clutch and the start/stop button again, starts like nothing ever happened. He says he faced this behavior at least 4 - 5 times in the past week while at traffic signals. This happens only while idling and has never happened while on the move.
Planning to get it checked with the dealership in a couple of days.

Any update on the fix? Hopefully it wasn't too much of a problem.

Surprisingly, the issue did not resurface after the initial two days. Its been driven around almost 350 - 400 kms now only in the city, no sign of the issue after the fist 4 - 5 instances during the first week. I've told him to still mention it to the SA during the 1000km first free inspection.

It looks like Maruti has sold record number of Swift last month. More than 30k cars??

Maruti Suzuki’s best selling segment - compact space that includes India’s best selling cars like new Swift, Baleno, Celerio, Ignis has registered 38.7 per cent by selling a total of 65,213 units in the Indian domestic market. This is against 47,002 units sold in the same month last year.

There are some hilarious misspellings in the list of accessories. Viser, Beeding, Vacum, Bumber, Revers, Amb, Conector...

It's hard to believe that this list is actually produced by an MSIL dealership! Can't they use a simple spellcheck before printing? :uncontrol

Cheers

Looks horrid. Should be put in our horribly modified cars thread. On the other hand, many/most of the aam junta actually likes such cosmetic accessories like excessive chrome and stuff. The legendary Swift brand has to go through this, a shame IMO.

Nope. Dzire is the largest selling car in Feb-18, followed by Alto and then Swift.

Simple. When you type all caps in Word document, it will not show misspelled words with red underline. This accessories document is all in caps stupid:

For folks who have driven the new swift, did you'll find issues with the decreased GC? I simply don't understand why would maruti do it, knowing the conditions of our roads. Its such a mental relief to know your car has enough GC and you can be a bit carefree over bad roads.

I remember reading somewhere that the actual ground clearance has not changed. It could be a matter of declaring the laden GC now instead of the unladen GC which was projected before.

The ground clearance has actually reduced. As per the brochure I was handed by the MSIL dealer, ground clearance of 163 mm in the spec sheet carried an asterisk which stated that the same is under unladen conditions.

2018 Swift on "fire" - the booking has crossed 75K now.

45K bookings in 5 weeks after launch. 36K bookings per month. This shows why a new launch is very important for every manufacturer to gain market share. At the point of launch, there may be a lot of customers looking for an upgrade. These new launches can attract the attention of those people, and easily convert them into bookings if the product is worth it.

Probably the number of bookings is why i haven't got any contact from my Maruti dealer, Khivraj Motors Chennai despite paying in full for the car more than a fortnight back. I have no clue when i'm going to get my car and no update from Maruti or the dealer either.please:
