Re: Audi SQ7 imported for homologation

Audi India has imported one unit of the SQ7 for homologation purpose. Last year the company had brought the car to India for testing (click here to read report).

The SQ7 has a 4.0-litre, V8 diesel engine that produces close to 435 BHP and 900 Nm of torque. The car has three turbochargers - two are conventional exhaust driven units, out of which one is for light acceleration and cruising, while the second one is for times when there is a big load on the engine. The third one is a first-of-its-kind electrically driven turbocharger. Audi claims that the combined efforts of the three turbos will result in no turbo-lag. The car is claimed to do the 0-100 kph sprint in less than 5 seconds.

On the outside, there isn't much of a difference as compared to the new Q7, except for some aluminium inserts, the SQ7 badging and quad exhaust pipes instead of dual exhaust pipes.

Currently the Q7 is available in India with a 3.0 TDI engine making 245 BHP. The SQ7 is expected to be launched in India soon.

Holy! Pity those tyres and the clutch plate. Wonder how the 8 speed DSG box is going to handle all that torque

Re: Audi SQ7 imported for homologation

I guess I spotted the SQ7 which has been imported by Audi India.

Here's a picture I clicked today of the same.
NOTE:- its a left hand driver version and the stickers at the back are surely hard to miss.

Re: Audi SQ7 imported for homologation

Now spotted testing by an IAB reader in Mumbai.

Quote:
The model spied was the left-hand drive version, so Audi could be testing the SQ7 in India as part of their global testing program or is in the works of homologating it in India. If they’re planning to launch it here, a good investment is required to downgrade the Euro VI-compliant 4.0L twin-turbo V8 TDI to BS-IV, so as to run on the less clean BS-IV diesel fuel sold in local fuel stations.
The SQ7 TDI is one of the world’s most powerful diesel SUVs (the other being the Bentley Bentayga diesel). Its V8 turbodiesel unit produces 435 hp and a hypercar-rivaling 900 Nm of peak torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Audi SQ7 spotted near Pangong Tso Leh

I am just back from a trip to Leh and while descending from Pangong Tso there were very strong winds and there was kind of a mini sand storm on the way. I was making a video of it and accidentally came across this Audi SQ7 which apparently had a flat out and a couple of guys were out and around it. There was a pilot vehicle as well accompanying it.
We didn't stop there but I looked back and it had LEFTHANDDRIVE written on the rear windshield. It had MH TC number plate and the number plate is visible in the video as well.

You can check the you tube video uploaded by me here:

SQ7 was clearly visible on the front grille.

Later on I checked on the internet and it seems like the same vehicle as in the below link.

Re: Audi SQ7 spotted near Pangong Tso Leh

Audi are learning from the recent debacle when they sponsored one of Overdrive's drives to Ladakh. One Q7 never made it up the mountains and the other had to be traliered back from Leh. Rumour had it that the DPF could not withstand the hard operating conditions
