Finally saw one today at Dealership here in Calgary which was unloaded in the morning. This is for a customer who booked around 8 months back. Due to exchange rates, Canada is one of the cheapest markets where we can get this for 110 Thousand CAD roughly around Rs. 60 Lac :)

Lexus Canada is encouraging lease for this instead of sales as few enterprising guys have exported these to China and Russia from here. I am going tomorrow again to see if I can drive or accompany guys while they do PDI.

One of the nice reviews of this beast

The New Delhi ex- showroom price is mentioned as Rs. 2,32,41,000.

The Toyota Land Cruiser 200 is Rs. 1,34,39,000. The premium is Rs. 98,02,000 or roughly 73%.

The regular LC 200 is more than enough for most potential buyers. But the wood and leather and overall ambiance in the Lexus is definitely several notches above the Toyota, and easily matches the Range Rovers. Still, a 1 crore + OTR premium is simply :Shockked:

The lexus does match the RR step by step. It has the space, size, quality and is indeed miles ahead of the LC. Though I feel they should have also brought in the lx570 to take on the super charged RR or maybe undercut the RR with this 450d model.

Also, with the new price-cuts announced by JLR owing to the brexit currency flutuations, the full size Range Rover starts at 'just' Rs. 1,57,88,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The gulf in prices between that and the LX450d can almost fit in another Range Rover Sport which is now at Rs. 86,60,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

I am intrigued mate!
You seem to have rather extensive stables hey?

Autocar India has come out with their first drive review of the Lexus 450d.

Their observations:I didn't understand who is going to take a 2.3 crore SUV offroad? Lexsus should have concentrated on making the back seat experience better, as most of the time this SUV will be plying on roads in traffic jams.

Mayve not off-road but there are people who take their expensive SUV's off the beaten track. At my place, our ex-MP has the pre gen LC, the current gen LC and the the Range Rover LWB and he goes every where with the LC's to visit areas where tractors ply and there are no roads. Needless to say, the RR is exempted rl: and is sent back to Delhi I assume.

In case he comes across this Lexus, he just might end up buying one. The point is, there are takers for a big expensive SUV which is reliable. Of course not many will buy a 3 crore car/SUV.

Mod Note: Our Lexus Review has been taken live at this link. Please continue the discussion over on the new thread. Thanks!

I'm not too sure on what you're trying to say here. But I can tell you that LC at 1.35 ex showroom Delhi would always be my preference, instead of Range Rovers and all other German SUV's. Only because of the peace of mind it gives.

Maybe I'm saying this because I've had a bad experience with the reliability of the Germans I have. But yes, I enjoy driving the Germans more because of their performance/handling etc. and on the other hand the Toyota's make me smile and I can take them out anytime, anywhere without thinking twice.

Also, I don't have space issues as I park some cars in our office and some at home, if that's what you're asking. :)
