This shows the meaning of correctly pricing your car right from the start. They did that mistake with the Fiesta. Then the Ecosport. And now the Figo and Aspire. How do they expect the customer to really develop confidence in the brand? And that too when MSIL and Hyundai both are increasing prices across their models!

Wahahao! :Shockked:

Mouth watering prices now!

Ford it seems has taken the easiest way out to increase their sales. 91K is a real big number. Not sure how customers who bought it a week back are going to feel. Considering the numbers are dismal not many will be hurt I guess! lol:

What happened to the so called 200 Crore campaign? I thought they would give at least 6 months time to see if that was going to have an impact. I hope they spend at least 50% of that 200 Crore to makes their A$$ better.

Ford needs to learn the importance of pricing it right the first time around. Once the market decides the fate of a product, it's hard to revive it with price cuts.

Moreover, such huge price cuts on Ecosport, Figo twins etc doesn't inspire much confidence in the brand. Looks like they are getting a bit desperate IMO.

And with good reason. Figo twins are on the verge of being declared a flop and the Ecosport is the only one product that gets them the numbers, but it has been hugely overshadowed by the highly successful Brezza. Don't see any good offerings in the pipeline either.

I would say they did price it right, but what they forgot was that the people who buy Ford cars know what they want from the car, driving dynamics for one. You don't just create a small car similar to a Maruti/Hyundai and dress it up with blue oval. New Fiesta should be their go to school for everything, let it be driving dynamics or pricing, a good school should teach you what is good and what is bad.

Ford you should stop bunking your classes.
Ford, your cars sell because of your driving dynamics and true value for money, Period

Great news.
Might be a typo here, as Figo base diesel cannot be priced above the aspire diesel base model, as written above.

Great news for the prospective buyers! (Bad news for the recent owners though) The already VFM cars have become mouth wateringly sweet! Figo TDCI Titanium+, the fastest diesel car under 15L with 6 airbags at 7.2L is too good to be true (even though it is) :D

I hope people lap up this great car at least now.

PS Where is the 91k cut? I see less than that for the Aspire.

Good news for prospective buyers indeed. But I doubt that it will get lapped up by people just because of the price cut. It was indeed as mentioned by few members priced right the first time round and it shows desperation on the part of Ford looking at the dwindling sales numbers. And as mentioned by member ramharis, people looking for a Ford car, go for it for the Build Quality, Driving Dynamics and Handling; which the new Figo twins are lacking in all areas. The refinement too is not right up there compared to others in the segment. Owing to all this they are not even seeing existing Ford owners going back to them, forget new prospective buyers.

Yes fine so the new Figo twins do not handle like the Mk5 Fiesta based Figo, but with the engine and equipment on offer for the top model, its a no brainer now.

So looks like Ford responded to the competition with new prices for the EcoSport and now the Figo. So what is the chance of them launching the Mk5 Fiesta based Figo with the new 1.5 TDCi as a spanking new Figo classic with all bells and whistles now that they are really responding to the market needs. No harm in dreaming is there stupid:

It means that there is no reduction on the 1.5l Petrol Titanium AT prices. I have been eyeing (like a hawk) for this reduction since the launch and it has still eluded me.please:

Speaking on the occasion, Anurag Mehrotra, Executive Director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India, said,“Offering technologically advanced and safe products are critical to our vision and commitment to customers. With the realignment of prices, Figo and Aspire are even more compelling for customers. The realignment also enhances the accessibility of these outstanding products, which offer segment-first safety features and class-leading technologies.”
It won't feel like family to the poor souls who bought these cars yesterday, Ford.

Just look at the below picture and tell me how many of those commuters you see in this picture, long for a car with good driving dynamics and superb handling.

You buy cars because there are several roads like this in India for you to drive on and enjoy the dynamics and handling:

Sorry, that is not the site where I live and such is a very rare occurrence here. By the way, its better to have a good handling car when have time to enjoy some curves than not having one. Not many everybody can afford 2 cars one for weekdays and one for weekends.

You are right, if you are bound to just city driving day in day out, having a car with those characteristics would urge to you go explore such roads.

I have been dreaming of getting a Fiesta Hatchback for more than 10 years and still do. But even dreams fade mate.

I wonder how many petrol Titanium variants of the Figo would sell. Add 35k and get an Aspire Titanium :)

What is the justification behind not passing the same benefit to the AT variants? This leaves a bad taste in my mouth. On one hand the move has desperation written all over it and on the other hand they are still acting snobbish by choosing to continue milking the customers who want an AT box.
