Well done Tata. I'm ready to xchange my Hexa already :)

As per my understanding, this is a Creta competitor.

* 7 airbags, Tyre pressure monitoring system, Hill start assist.

* All wheel disc brakes, Traction control.

* 1.5L dual VVT-i petrol engine with 6speed manual and 7 speed CVT.

* I think he said roof mounted ac vents with ambient lighting for the rear passengers.

Loved the performance and enthusiasm while they launched the Yaris. Found it funny that the chief engineer of Yaris is Mr. Suzuki:D.

The Yaris looks like a masterstroke from Toyota to drive into the City/Verna territory; I am really looking forward to its launch. And what's more pleasing is the safety kit on offer - 7 airbags, traction control/VSC etc. And going by the launch videos this probably will be the first in segment to have a proper 3-point seatbelt for the rear-middle passenger.

Thanks. Did he say anything about the Toyota Rush?

With the kind of kit/Equipment they are offering, it might land into Elantra's territory in terms of pricing. Just the way Honda City moving away from their territory to Elantra territory. I think Amaze will fill in City's shoes in terms of pricing and City will hit next segment pricing.

Tata Nexon AMT

Source : Motorbeam

Quote:

Mechanically and visually the Nexon AMT remains identical to the manual variants save for the AMT gear knob inside the cabin. The AMT gearbox is available with both petrol and diesel engines. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor puts out 110 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque while the 1.5-litre diesel mill churns out 110 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque.
EDIT: As mentioned BHPian RavenAvi this is the new Etna Orange shade that will be added when the AMT is launched.

Actually no, this kind of feature set is already available in some cars around the same price range, but different segment e.g.; Ecosport Titanium+.

That said, with the current trend the whole segment may move up in terms of pricing. For example, the top variant of City maybe moving to the Elantra side in terms of pricing but then the segment of Elantra, Corolla, upcoming Civic all will go into the 20-25 lakhs price range (unless they have a bare-bone variant to show up a low starting price). There will always be this overlap - top variant of a segment hits the low variant price of the immediate next segment.

wonder what sort of design team does Mahindra employ? This looks like a roadside job or maybe from a nursery paint book :deadhorse

To me a convertible is better looking on a sedan modelled vehicle rather than the KUV. This looks like someone drove the vehicle through a low ceiling tunnel and came out with the top out. It probably will remain just a concept vehicle and will not enter production. One also needs to look at the geographical distribution of KUV sales to find if there is actually a market for this type of vehicle.
