Maruti to start 15 skill centres across India by August 2017

Maruti Suzuki has announced that it will be setting up 15 new Automobile Skill Enhancement Centres in the next three months. These skill centres will be opened at 15 different Government-run ITIs (Industrial Training Institute) across 11 states. It will be a part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Each of these Automobile Skill Enhancement Centres (ASECs) will have a workshop to provide practical training in automobile service and repair. These workshops will be equipped with all major service tools and equipment, and will have full time trainers. Maruti Suzuki is also planning to provide training to existing ITI teachers to give them insights into the latest technology and equipment being used in the automotive industry.

Through such initiatives, Maruti is trying to upgrade skills of ITI students across the country and make them well-versed with day to day activities in the automotive service and repair sector. It also organizes industry outreach programmes to make the students ready for jobs in the automotive sector.

The automaker will be spending Rs. 6 crores on these 15 ASECs, which are cumulatively expected to train around 600 students every year. The facilities will be located in Delhi, Varanasi, Amritsar, Patiala, Gorakhpur, Jaipur, Udaipur, Ambala, Solan, Coimbatore, Shillong, Pune, Meerut, Hyderabad and Indore.

Amazing, isn't it?
MSIL will get well trained ( trained by MSIL) resources for their new project 'Quick Response Team'. A win-win situation for all.
