Re: Apollo Tyres expands into European OE market I have been using made in Netherlands Sportrac 5 tyres, coincidentally, on my Vento for the past 11,000 kms. While these tyres are good on good quality roads, as in most of the Europe, if I'm not wrong, these do not work too well in our road conditions.
The sidewall is significantly "bulgy", as somewhat visible in the first picture in the thread. The sidewall of tyres in 195/60 R15 profile is way more bulgy, and does not look anything like a performance oriented tyre would. While driving, even about an inch deep of undulations on the road, unsettle the car, especially while cornering. There is something funny that is coming to my mind now. The other day, I was taking a corner, and there was cow-dung on the road, that was a bit tender, and the car was unsettled when a tyre went through it. I could not see if before due to the curved road, and the curb.
In contrast, Yokohama C-drives in the same 195/60 R15 profile performed consistently, even through rough roads, maintaining the performance always.
With that being said, Sportrac 5 are highly acclaimed on tyrereviews.co.uk, and appear in the top rated tyres. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Vr...Sportrac-5.htm
