Datsun has launched the Redi-GO GOLD 1.0L limited edition. It is based on the T(O) trim and comes with some new features and minor cosmetic changes. It is priced at Rs. 3.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is Rs. 12,404 more than the standard T(O) 1.0L variant.



The limited edition Redi-GO GOLD 1.0L is available in three exterior colour options - Grey, Silver and White, each with gold and black decals on the bonnet, roof, tailgate and on the sides. More gold highlights can be found on wheel covers and front grille. The interior gets gold-themed seats and gold trim around the centre console. It comes with custom mood lighting which can be controlled via a mobile phone using an Ambient Lighting app. Other features include Bluetooth audio system, reverse parking sensors, remote keyless entry, etc. Since the limited edition is based on the T(O) and not the top-end S variant, it misses out on the driver airbag and LED DRLs.



The Redi-GO GOLD is offered with the 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine which produces 67 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 91 Nm of torque @ 4,250 rpm. The engine comes mated with a 5-speed manual transmission.



Customers of the Redi-GO GOLD 1.0L can also avail of the Datsun CARE service package. The package includes almost 100% coverage of parts and scheduled service expenses including labour charges and taxes. Some other value-added services include extended warranty, road-side assistance, exterior and interior cleaning, etc.

I fail to grasp the idea why sometimes manufacturers don't release a special variant on the top trim or at least provide it in multiple trims?!

Special editions are built to move the metal. They'll usually base it on whatever excess inventory they have (either ready cars or parts).
