Maharashtra Electronic Chip embedded Drivers Lics.?..

Hey guys..well,recently,I read in some Mumbai newspaper that all drivers licenses in Maharashtra will have to be changed to the 4kb sim like chip embedded card drivers licenses replacing the current booklet type drivers licenses..
I guess this is standard since years in other states like Gujrat, because I recently saw a friends drivers license from Gujrat and it was that credit card type one with a small chip embedded in it.
I haven't inquired about it at the RTO yet..any idea about this?..personally,I would prefer that kind of drivers lic. instead of the current booklet type one..

Cheers,
-sr

yea.ittl be good cos you can keep it in your wallet and dont have to worry that it will get ruined when it rains.also it should be easier to keep track of fake licences .just hope the procedure to change it is simple.
