Facelifts just spoils the overall character the Ciaz had, the bonnet lines do not match the front grills at all, the chrome on the grill is out of place. This looks like a very bad facelift done to keep the car in demand.
Can spot a blue SHVS badge at the rear.

The bigger news might be the change of engines - the new 1.5 diesel and petrol, both supposed to debut in the Ciaz.
I actually didn't feel the facelift looks too bad. And like someone mentioned earlier, the general public might not make out the differences at all.

In addition to the new engine, I'm happy there are adjustable headrests at the rear now. Or were they already a part of the latest batches of the current model?
While Maruti preps the Ciaz petrol for mass production before it's launch in August, the Ciaz diesel continues it's extensive testing.

I really hope it was not the driver of the Nexon who was clicking the spy pictures while driving. If yes then we should advise against it for obvious reasons.
Face-lift CIAZ interiors revealed,
Quote:
The 2018 Maruti Ciaz features a revised instrument panel. The speedometer and tachometer have blue needles, similar in colour to the diesel Smart Hybrid variant. This is an indicator of the addition of mild hybrid tech to the petrol variant. The MID between them is also new, positioned lower now for better visibility. Another improvement is the availability of headrests for the rear seat occupants. The non-touch double-DIN audio system in the centre console suggests that the interior is of the Delta or Zeta grades

Maruti Suzuki has added cruise control feature with the mid-cycle refresh, and its controls are on the right spoke of the steering wheel, similar to S-Cross.

IMHO the older interiors were much more classy and this one looks downright cheap and tacky.
Cruise control is a welcome feature, but this sunmica finish looks tacky at best.
So Ciaz does not get the new steering wheel design? :Shockked:
I agree with the opinions stated above. While it is good to see that the car gets cruise controls and (most probably) a coloured MID as well, the wood finish in the previous car was much much better. This looks cheap and for the lack of a better word, gives quite a 'bathroomish' feeling to the car.
I pray and sincerely hope that the plywood finish is some MGA sticker and not the standard setup. It looks horrible and just doesnt fit in with the other features which are a decent upgrade.

It looks like the faux wood is here to stay( notice the SRS airbag sticker on the wood trim). Terrible choice of grain and colour. The finish circled in red is terrible( the overlap of faux wood between the dash and door trims). In my opinion they should have opted for a darker shade. End of day this may not be wood or veneer and may just be some plastic stick on.
But, Maruti knows what will sell and this wood trim will be a runaway hit with the consumers.
Looks like one of Maruti's suppliers had some extra plywood lying around. lol:
The front has a very VWish styling cue and makes the car look much more aerodynamic. I'm sure it will continue being a very plush car to drive/sit in.
The old shade was so classy (see pic). This shade seems so mass market (
maybe that's what Maruti is going for)

I quite like the looks of the dials, wish we could see them lit and with a clearer view of the MID. It does looks positioned lower.
And the wood trim :deadhorse Less said about it the better.
