If they had provided fog lamps as well, it would have been a more complete package. Currently, if a buyer wants a slightly loaded variant of the WR-V minus goodies like the sunroof, there is none. The Edge seems to fill that gap, but just about.

They should introduce the CVT quickly. These minor feature updates dont really help

I agree, a CVT in this car is a no brainer.... Wonder why Honda is not introducing one.

This is a good choice between the top and the low version. The lack of automatic is really glaring in good cars such as this WR-V, Ecosport, Brezza etc.

I guess, Honda fear is on its City sales if they provide CVT on WR-V. For example, people may choose to buy WR-V CVT as opposed to City CVT.
To me, City is not a mean/sport machine [unlike Vento TSI].

With that 1.2L engine, it may not be a threat to the City with a CVT gearbox. Might sway people away from the Jazz CVT, which isn't doing huge numbers anyway.

I agree, partially.
City CVT isn't a sportier machine either. I drove both Jazz CVT and City CVT before settling for City CVT.
Yes, there was a difference and City CVT was much better to drive. But, nothing great to write about for 5 lakhs difference and now, its like 6-7 lakhs difference b/w the CVT versions of Jazz and City top ends.

Still no Magic seats or even a 40:60 folding seats.

Honda wants to cater to the utility sector without giving the utility features. Inspite of the management s recent belief that the market for Automatics is growing very fast for launching Diesel Automatic for Amaze, Honda has ruled out CVT version for WRV.

Honda should stop wasting time with these unwanted & frivolous upgrades.
Update the WRV with a 1.5 litre VTEC engine and CVT and I am sure a lot of fence sitters will take the plunge and buy this vehicle.

The Ecosport has the AT box, albeit only in the petrol variant. Typo perhaps?

Launched?

I think Edge Edition variant was already there in their line up. In fact, I checked and TDed WRV Edge Edition on 8th March and 12th March.

Related thread :https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/hatch...ml#post4369569

Post numbers : 21 & 23

IMHO, WRV Edge Edition is a VFM variant.

That will never happen. If they put the 1.5L engine in WRV, then they will not be able to fit in the HRV which seems ideal to fit into the 1.5L bracket.

And even if they do bring in the HRV with the 1.5L engine, where will they position it? They have the BRV with the same 1.5L engine as a Creta rival, whereas ideally, the HRV would have been the right rival for Creta.

So unless they do some massive price correction for the BRV ala the Duster, Honda might find it difficult to bring in the HRV at a price point above the Creta's.
