I really hope Renault has something up its sleeve that we do not know as yet. An under 4M 7 seater would be just like the Go+, the last row of seats being useless even for kids and can act only as a marketing gimmick.
Whatever innovation Renault tries in the name of modularity, there is only so much you can do in a sub 4m car!
And just because its been named Triber, the Renault marketing team is now going to be advertising it as some adventurous Crossover, when in reality its looking like extended Kwid.

Coming Soon!

Spotted the Triber today morning in peak hour traffic at around 9.45 AM and was with this car from Mahadevpura to almost near Kadubeesanahalli in Bangalore along ORR.

Some notes -

1. Seems to be well kitted, for example has projector headlamps.
2. Running MRF ZVTS tyres in 14 inch size (either 14 or 15 inches)
3. Fairly long and tall. Would say 90% of last gen ertiga size.

So basically are we expecting something on the lines of Kia Carens (on a much much more smaller footprint)

with a tight seating like this:

For some reason, the camouflaged silhouette reminds me alot of:

older VWGolf Cross:

or

Hyundai Matrix

Let's hope the Triber manages some wonder luck for Renault

Renault Triber to be unveiled on June 19, 2019

The global unveiling of the Renault Triber has been scheduled for June 19, 2019. The MPV will go on sale in India later this year.

The Renault Triber (codenamed: RBC) is a sub-4 meter MPV that is expected to be based on the CMF-A+ platform. Spy images suggest that the car could get wraparound headlamps with a pronounced grille and a high roof line.

On the inside, the Triber is expected to be offered with a dual-tone dashboard with silver trim, touchscreen infotainment system, 3-spoke steering wheel, an instrument cluster with chrome surrounds and modular third row seats. Renault might offer side airbags on higher variants.

Reports suggest that the Renault Triber could be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine from the Kwid. It is expected to be tuned for a higher output and might be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT.

Looks like the Triber draws design direction from the Captur! And its a good thing anyway. The Captur is a sales dud and no harm in having a very similar design in a lower segment car. Renault might be able to market this as an affordable 6 or 7 seater which customers can buy at compact sedan prices.
I just hope the product is fundamentally sorted unlike certain cars from are Renault where cost cutting is very evident.

Seems this was shot when the launch rehearsals were on. But I like the proportions, alteast what's visible in these images. Full unveil around 2pm today.

Looks like a more proportionate version of WagonR 7 seater in what is visible above in the video screenshots. Anxiously awaiting the final variants and price details now.

I hope the Triber does well. It is important that there is a good range of products in each segment to keep up the pressure of competition. The Kwid is a well made car and I hope this is at least as good. Best of luck Triber.
