Other features include panoramic sunroof, gesture controlled sun blinds, adaptive cruise control with queue assist, 4-zone climate control and a Meridian sound system.

Good job by the JLR guys to get the number of variants down to 6-7 in each car. This is a significant improvement compared to the Velar which launched with 25 variants!

Well there are a "N" number of options under each variant and you can still have zillion configurations They encourage customers to configure the options as per requirement which I will say is a good option for someone looking exclusivity and in this segment only Porsche does similar. Compared with others like Lexus or Porsche, they have also priced relatively competitively, maybe their/ dealers overheads get taken care by fast-selling CKD models, unlike others.

In my opinion, they should seriously consider CKD for Sports and try to price it less than a Crore for a decently specced model if they are serious.

Re: 2018 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport launched

It’s high time JLR shows it’s Indian roots by getting a full fledged CKD manufacturing.
If Mercedes and BMW can have their entire line up from the A/1 series right up to their flagship S/7 manufactured in India even though they are German companies. It is a pity that JLR is owned by an Indian company and only produces few of its lower end models in India. I’m glad they got the F-Pace CKD at a good price, but they need to get the Velar in CKD ASAP followed by the Sport and Vogue.
The vogue can get a good amount of S/7 owners to switch if prices at par.

It would be a dream come true for many and they can repeat their feat of growth they showed in the last financial year if they start CKD mfg of Sport and Vogue and price them at par or maybe at a slight premium of 6-8L over the top-end variants of GLS / X5 / Q7 and 6-8L over S / 7 for the RRS and RR Vogue respectively. That coupled with the awesome 5 year maintenance package that they are offering and they'll surely be segment leaders IMHO.
