Maruti launches Quick Response Team on Bikes

Maruti Suzuki has launched 'Quick Response Team on Bikes' to offer on-road assistance for customer cars. In the first phase, the company has rolled out 350 bikes in over 251 cities and plans to offer this service in 500 cities by the end of 2020.

Each Quick Response Team (QRT) bike will have a trained technician on-board, equipped with essential tools and spare parts. The bikes also carry a battery jump starter and tyre inflator and can address 90% of the problems typically faced by customers in case of a breakdown.

When a customer calls for assistance, a web-based system identifies the GPS location of the nearby technician and assigns him the task. The customer can then connect with the technician over phone and can track each other's location and estimated time of arrival via the Maruti Care App.

Customers who have purchased extended warranty for their cars can avail of the Quick Response Team service and Maruti Suzuki on-Road Service for free. For cars that are not covered under warranty or extended warranty, QRT service costs between Rs. 420-575 depending on the location of the car.

Customers can avail of this service by calling on 1800 102 1800 (Arena) and 1800 102 6392 (Nexa) or via the Maruti Care App.

Re: Maruti launches Quick Response Team on Bikes

Seems nobody can beat maruti on all these grounds which is going one step ahead in catering to customer needs. Someone is really innovative who does this thinking so that they can bump competition as and when required and at own will. No doubt they are more than 50% owner of market and are willing to capture more and more with every passing day.

Re: Maruti launches Quick Response Team on Bikes

Ofcourse, in Bangalore, we need VVQRT (very very quick reaction...) teams while we wait for the QRT to navigate through the traffic

Good move by Maruti. Given traffic conditions in most cities and towns, these techs on motorbikes should be able to reach quicker than the regular MOS (Maruti Suzuki On-Road Service) folks who usually use an Eeco or Omni.

Re: Maruti launches Quick Response Team on Bikes

Is there a particular number or site where we can subscribe to this service?

Is it free for cars under warranty (standard warranty, not the extended one)?

Great initiative. Bikes will be faster, cheaper and just more in number. The turnaround time for a distress call will probably be attended in no time.
: Thumbs Up:

On a lighter note, Maruti may just end up manufacturing their own bikes soon. For the sheer volume they put on the roads every month, expect the bike demand to go up.:

Re: Maruti launches Quick Response Team on Bikes

Excellent move; typical of Maruti to devise India specific products/services for problems indigenous to us. It is this customer centeredness that makes the manufacturer the first choice of millions of Indians for purchasing their cars. Just this afternoon, I had to coordinate between my regular MASS and a colleague to help his battery dead car started. The new service would provide the necessary succour in such cases.

However, Maruti should ensure that the bike borne technicians are really trained to perform on road repairs and are not unskilled riff raffs, the likes of whom are often deputed for towing break down vehicles back to service centres. Maruti should also take care to make the service available 24/7, and extend it areas far off from the big cities.

Re: Maruti launches Quick Response Team on Bikes

Guys,

Two ways to avail of this service:

1. Call 1800 102 1800 (Arena) or 1800 102 6392 (Nexa)

2. Through the Maruti Care App

Will have it added to the opening post too.

Well said. I am left amazed at Maruti's drive & initiatives. The company is relentless. We're truly watching a legend play its best match here.

This will be routed to the local/nearby dealer and it is they who dispatch the teams right? If so, this has been going on for a while I guess. Both times we called for road side assistance, once for our Baleno (battery drain) and other for an uncle's Celerio (brake fluid leakage), they sent guys on bikes. In the first case, they came with a giant capacitor-thingy and jump started the Baleno. In the second case, they topped up the fluid and taped up the damaged brake hose. We were able to drive it to the service center.
