The Hector is expected to be launched in Q2 of 2019. Customers will be able to book test drives and avail courtesy car benefit through the Myles platform. The subscription model will also be available for MG's electric vehicle that the company plans to launch by the end of this year.

MG Motor plans to set up 110 sales and service touchpoints at the start of sales. Apart from these touchpoints, the company plans to leverage Myles' existing network that is spread across 21 cities. The tie-up between both companies is believed to be valued at Rs. 250 crore in the first phase.

Interesting to see just the kind of strategies, tricks & games that new players have to adopt to stand out from the crowd. They had better price it well. Today's subscription rates simply don't make sense as they are more expensive than buying a car (unless you rent the vehicle back onto the system, which has its own set of challenges).

Re: MG Motor India announces tie-up with Myles

Looking at current skewed Indian market, new players very well understand that traditional attributes like VFM product, feature lists, performance, quality etc. alone will not much of a difference. They need to find new/innovative marketing methods to have their presence felt. Overall good IMO for the customers and industry.
