Swift, Fiesta hit Indigo sales in '06. Also Getz down

...
the company’s Indigo range of passenger cars has witnessed a decline in sales in 2006. Sales of Indigo went down by 8% to 35,483 units during the period.

Auto analysts feel the introduction of new cars like Swift and Fiesta has to an extent affected sales of Indigo. But they expect Indigo sales to recover in calender 2007 with the recent launch of the `Indigo LX’ stretched limousine in the domestic market.

Even without the logan the Indigo is not doing that well,so I think Tata needs to speed up their dicorisation of the Indigo atleast.Improving sales of the petrol indigo dont have an answer perhaps a price cut.

Expecting huge volumes from the Indigo XL maybe asking a bit too much.

Even with the Dicor, to the normal undiscerning end-user there's no visible USP unless word circulates that the Dicor is giving a phenomenally upped mileage over the current diesel. I feel that the Indigo has entered the Corolla's predicament - and price cuts might be the only sustainable way forward once the Logan hits

What the hell have these analysts been smoking? Do they expect an 8 lac variant of the Indigo to significantly contribute to the annual sales?

Even the Getz sales are hit at only 350+. That is seriously low and nearing the dreaded Palio territory. If only Hyundai had priced it right from the start, it would have had a lot more acceptability. Overconfident Hyundai?

Its future may change for the better if they launch the diesel version with an acceptable pricetag .

Getz diesel might face the same situation against swift diesel.
