Mahindra TUV300 facelift spotted

Facebook blogger team The Next Cog has spotted the Mahindra TUV300 facelift testing in the wild. As per their observations, the changes on the facelifted version include:

- Gunmetal finish on the alloy wheels
- Clear lens smoked tail lamps (and headlamps, as claimed)
- New wider rear wheel cover
- Brushed up, all new interiors
- Sleeker roof rails

Mahindra is yet to announce any formal dates for the launch of the TUV300 facelift.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 facelift spotted

Do not see much different from T10, other than the smoked tail-lamps.

However, my basic wish list is:
01. ICE similar to XUV 300 or better (Good speakers too please)
02. Reverse Camera
03. Folding & heated ORVM's
04. Turning indicators on ORVM's
05. Separate switch for front fog lamps
06. DRL's
07. Better designed (middle) console around the gear-shift
& just may be:
08. Captain seats at back
09. Fully folding back-seat (tumble-down)
10. Rear AC
11. Sleek integrated-plastic cladding around the body - like Scorpio

Re: Mahindra TUV300 facelift spotted

Where does the TUV now find itself after the launch of XUV 300? Most Tier 2 folks also need modern vehicles and Bolero is fast losing its ranking. I know it still sells in 1000s, but will it keep going, after the crash regulations come into effect?

Also, will the changes be applicable to the TUV 300 Plus too? It is a better product as compared to the original TUV, with a better engine and drive train.

The thing gets sold in rural areas, with that ruggedness & presence. I think there is a clear market for the TUV and XUV 300 and there are absolutely no overlap. Even if there is any, M&M wins - so am sure they don't mind.

02. I think a Rear Camera can be seen over the Rear Number Plate area if you look closely.

04. I don't see them on this prototype, not sure if they'll bring that feature with this update.

On a different note, can I see something like Cruise Control Buttons on the right spoke of the steering wheel, or will those be MID Controls like in the Marazzo?

Re: Mahindra TUV300 facelift spotted

More than anything, Mahindra should smoothen out the bumpy ride quality of the TUV300. That's something owners live with every km of every day and it's certainly 10X more important than aesthetic enhancements or clear-lens tail lights. No rocket science - just better suspension tuning.

As a wise man once said - if you don't cannibalise yourself, someone else will gladly do it for you .

The TUV300 has failed because of horrible marketing decisions by Mahindra. As a product, it's a lot better than the Bolero & even the outdated Scorpio in so many areas. But Mahindra had to first launch it with an under-powered engine. Then, a problematic AMT - both of which really gave it a bad reputation. Finally, the TUV300 Plus was so poorly handled - no one was sure whether it was launched or not (had a soft launch initially). By the time the TUV300 Plus was available everywhere, no one really gave a damn.

If the antique Bolero can sell ~7,000 units / month, the TUV300 Plus & regular TUV300 should be doing at least 4,000 / month.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 facelift spotted

As a current owner, I would like to see the following added to the facelift :

1. The engine from the Marazzo. If it is possible to plonk it in a RWD configurattion.
2. A tad smaller gear stick with smoother shifts
3. More articulation allowance for the rear wheels
4. Better contoured middle bench seats. A 5 seater version perhaps.
5. Smoked headlamps (already available in T10)
6. HU with android auto and much much better stock speakers.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 facelift spotted

Wish they ditch the present 3 cylinder engine & use the new proper 4-cylinder diesel one thats refined and being used in the Marazzo & XUV3OO. The TC-type Automatic would be great. All this with a small PR Campaign would greatly help. If they do this, I'm sure even the service centers will be able to render decent service with efficiency thanks to the part-sharing : a win-win to help both the ASC & Customers.

Alas, if wishes were horses. They'll probably change some plastic fibre shaping in the bumper & a few elements in the interiors. Lets see.

That's the thing! Since Jan 2018, M&M had silently changed a lot of parts for the TUV 300; the main change was in the set-up which makes for better rear wheel articulation. I have successfully gone off-road and made it out of a dried lake bed without wheelspin. Everyday I put my TUV in a potential situation, getting into my home via a ramp at a 90 degree turn from a complete stop, with no wheelspin. A wheel tends to lose articulation in that situation and still the other wheel pushes on and gets me home. When asked, a Mahindra engineer at the service station told me that since I have a Jan 2018 made vehicle, I won't have wheelspin.

My anger with M&M is - if they've vastly improved rear wheel articulation and removed other niggles since 2018 (the coolant leakage issue, the modulator issue etc.), can't they at least do some PR over it? Everyone still veers away from this model because of the "wheelspin issues". I'm sitting here, asking "what wheelspin?" I may have to create my own video demonstration to prove it.

+1 to that. As an April '18 owner, I support Locusjag on this one. The vehicle has vastly improved as against the earlier variants, on wheelspin and also the other known issues.

However, contrary to what others say, the main problem is not M&M's marketing strategy - it is the image of the Company. Till now, you say M&M, the names which you get from the public are Bolero or XUV 500. No one knows about the other products.

I personally know of people who went in for other vehicles, than buying a Mahindra - because it only makes commercial vehicles primarily -

1 is standard as T10 model - without Android Auto. I am sure it will come. 2 is available as an option. 9 is available to an extent - you have to fold the base to make it full flat - in T10 at aleast. 11 - Plenty of customizations available.

7 - subjective. I like it as is.

The front grille is new and there’s a bumper insert that’s been added. The profile of the TUV300 is more or less unchanged while the rear shows new, clear lens tail lamps and reverse parking sensors.

Thanks for sharing, the grille now looks very similar to the Jeep. Looks better than the old one.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 facelift spotted

There wont be an AMT with the facelift model. And there will not be the 80hp variant too. I wish they had launched the 4 cylinder 115hp engine in this one.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 facelift spotted

The grill should have been body cloured, makes it look aftermarket. The clear tail lamps look weird with this red shade, as if someone broke it.
