This is very good news;My prayers are heard. Finally we get good trucks (and enjoy diesels while we can)

While the V-Cross is pretty good, its the basic D-Max that needs a new lease of life. It is a pretty good vehicle but it is completely marred by the fact that it cant be registered as a private vehicle.

This new V-cross means that Isuzu is doing good as a company in India, and I sincerely hope they continue to progress. We are in dire need of good pick-ups in India, not just as lifestyle vehicles or style statements.

Looking at the pattern of shifting next to the gear lever, does anyone else think that it might be an AMT unit to keep costs in check? I cannot see the usual 'P' position seen in the markings of regular ATs, these remind me of markings from most AMT Units seen in the cars sold in India.

Would love to see another AT and 4x4 combo, till now I've only seen it in XUV500 W11 AT under 20L (ex showroom).

I believe the gear is in "Park". Most likely the gear lever is hiding the "P" marking.

I don't think they'd have developed a new AMT system for such low volumes. It won't make a case for itself.
Plus they've AT available outside India which would be plug and play.

I remember commenting about a missing AT option on this car. Prayers heard i guess. I've told my wife every time i see a V Cross on the road that this would be the perfect runabout for us especially with our dogs only if it came in an AT. Hopefully they don't plonk in an AMT.

Will the 1.9 liter Mill eventually climb up the ladder to the Bs6 mux? If only aggressively priced the MuX will be a promising upgrade

This new 6 speed automatic in the Isuzu is the same Aisin AC60 (AWR6B45) series in the Innova Crysta and the Fortuner.

2020 Isuzu V-Cross SUV 1.9 liter diesel BS6 Auto 4×4 spied inside out

Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 1.9 4x4 AT has been updated with a BS VI ready diesel engine.

Isuzu India is getting ready to launch the 2020 D-Max V-Cross. The pickup truck was spotted on test near company plant by Dr Suresh Kumar. The spy shots reveal interiors as well as exteriors of the updated D-Max V-Cross.

In terms of its exterior design, the new Isuzu D-Max V-Cross gets new projector headlamps taking the place of the halogen units, seen on its current counterpart. It also receives a new front bumper, grille and new alloy wheels. Changes to the rear include a new bumper with refreshed tail lamps and new brake lights.

Interior, though they retain the same layout, are also revamped with a new dual tone color scheme in a premium black and beige finish. The entire cabin gets a premium stance, with piano black accents in place of chrome seen on its earlier counterpart. The same color scheme continues on doors, dashboard and central console.

The seats are upholstered in leather along with the steering wheel; giving the new Isuzu V-Cross a more premium appeal. For international markets, the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross gets ventilated seats but it is not sure if this feature will make it to the India spec model. The infotainment system also gets updated to a new 7” touchscreen display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Interior safety features include rear parking camera with sensors, climate controls, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control while airbags on the front, side and curtain airbags will also be on offer.

Isuzu D-Max V-Cross spied on test has a 1.9 liter, 4 cylinder BSVI ready diesel engine. This is against the 2.2 liter engine seen on its current model. The engine, though downsized, gets increased performance with 162 bhp power and 360 Nm torque, an increase of 30 bhp power and 40 Nm torque, mated to a 6 speed automatic and shift-on-the-fly 4×4 system replacing the current 5 speed manual. The engine is BS IV compliant.

Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is currently offered in Standard and High variants. It is priced at Rs.15.32 lakhs and Rs.16.82 lakhs respectively. Price of the new V-Cross, with updated features and a new engine lineup, could go up marginally.

Auto Launch Delayed

As per a known source, Auto Launch is delayed until Next Year and for now, only Manual will be launched with Euro 6 engine in 2-3 months. I guess this is due to the extra costs of the Automatic transmission.

I too heard it from a friend who works in Isuzu. The reason is that they don't have anything new when the BS-VI hoopla kicks in next year, so this will be be their BS-VI hype.

Kinda silly strategy if you ask me, but then again Isuzu India hasn't been the smartest.

Maybe they hope the prices of others will also increase at that time and they can launch the other variant as Auto at higher rates. I don't think they can price a Euro 6. 1,9 Ltr engine with Auto Gearbox at less than 20 lac now so instead of launching something which is not going to sell, and they have chosen to continue with the manual.

Isuzu V-Cross automatic launched at 19.99 lacs ex-showroom! Guess the pricing seems a bit too far stretched!
