Re: Rumour: 2nd-gen Renault Duster not coming to India

Grand Duster( 7 seater), but internally in Dacia, the staff identifies it as "RJI".

Rumour: 2nd-gen Renault Duster not coming to India-grandduster2.jpg

This is the codename for the romanian brand's most daring bet on the European market and also for Renault outside the continent.
Quote:
The project is being played by Renault in France, but its production will initially take place in Pitesti, Romania, where the Grand Duster will come out with the modular platform CMF-B, the same as the Sandero Stepway
Quote:
Grand Duster, it will be around 4.50 m long and will employ a 12-volt micro hybrid starter system, in addition to the 1.3 TCe engine, which should appear with 150 horsepower, as in the Russian Arkana

Quote:
Markets such as India and Brazil – not counting Mexico – should also be hit by the SUV, which should be done in the region

Re: Rumour: 2nd-gen Renault Duster not coming to India

The design of the second-gen Renault Duster has been patented in India and it suggests that a launch could be in the pipeline.

Renault shall not even think about this for India, it's too late for 2022. Launched in 2017 globally everything Renault-Nissan India tried as stop gap failed miserably.

Instead they should work on this for India -BIGSTER.

Having driven the second generation AWD Duster, I would be a potential customer if they get it to India with features at par with the European model. Considering the exceptional ride quality, it’s a good car for anyone who wants to do long trips involving mild off roading. Which is practically ~80% of the market I guess.

Obviously this car would not have the bling associated with Kia and Hyundais of the world. But not very important from my perspective.

Re: Rumour: 2nd-gen Renault Duster not coming to India

Duster - 3: -2024

Too few developments between the Duster 2 phase 1 launched in 2017 and the Duster 2 phase 2 which will officially show its new headlights and lights on June 22, 2021.

Then go directly to the Dacia Duster 3! The third version of the SUV star of the low-cost galaxy will be, in 2024, the king of change.

Known internally under the code P1310, the Duster 3 will be based on the CMF-B technical platform of the Dacia Sandero but in an extended version in order to offer all the necessary ease to a family vehicle.

Quote:
A modern chassis that will open the doors of classic hybridization to the new Duster. A plug-in variant is under consideration but has not yet been confirmed. On the other hand, diesel will soon be a matter of the past for the Duster, which will do without it on this third generation. The range will also include the new three-cylinder 1.2 TCe (HR12) combined with a 48V micro-hybridization.
The Duster 3 (left) will be the little brother of the Bigster (right). Five seats on board the first and up to seven on board the second.

Quote:
Last May, the patents of the new Dacia Duster having leaked on the web, are already refining our perception of things.
Quote:
To put it simply, the Duster will have to spend a lot on the Bigster but with a planed stern and a more inclined tailgate. The production vehicle will rest on smaller diameter wheels. In detail, the door handles at the front and the exterior mirrors will be identical to those of the Dacia Sandero 3. The rear doors will benefit from black lacquered elements integrated into the custode amount. What gives it a welcome coupe SUV side without breaking the balance and purity of the rear wing. Finally, on the flat part between the bottom of the rear window and the location of the number plate, we will find a Dacia lettering stamped in the sheet metal, a bit like on the side of a pick-up truck

Really like this. It’s got a Volvo XC40 vibe going on. Would consider it if launched in India for sure.

With all the new crossovers strictly being 4 seaters, the new duster can be a good option for people looking for a genuine 5 seater. Just hope that Renault/Dacia improves on the safety aspect. And yes, ultimately launch it in India.

Re: Rumour: 2nd-gen Renault Duster not coming to India

Looking forward to it. Will be quite a solid and compelling package as a highway and off-roading crossover if 1.3L petrol + CVT/AMT + AWD. However, even the current global generation isn't for sale here so I don't expect it to arrive anytime sooner than 5 years or perhaps never, let alone AT + AWD.

This is such a bad ad. Nothing about the car or the new features or design, just some philosophy on following essentials! Such a strong start and a strong brand, let down by neglect and non launch of newer generations for more than a decade.

2022 Dacia Duster Facelift Debuts

Rumour: 2nd-gen Renault Duster not coming to India-new_dacia_duster_exterior__embargo_22.06.21_08h00_uk_time_3.jpg

2022 Duster is the first Dacia production car ever to have LED turn signals at the front.

The dashboard has been revised to accommodate a new infotainment system featuring an eight-inch touchscreen. It offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay aside from the usual built-in navigation.

Rumour: 2nd-gen Renault Duster not coming to India-new_dacia_duster__interior__embargo_22.06.21_08h00_uk_time_8.jpg

It even has a 4x4 monitor for the all-paw version by showing an inclinometer, altimeter, compass, and other relevant data.

Dacia has also installed new headrests for greater comfort and they're similar to those of the Logan and Sandero, which in turn borrowed them from the latest-generation Renault Clio.

Newly designed 16- and 17-inch wheels tested in the wind tunnel are more aerodynamic than the previous alloys and help the four-wheel-drive version emit 5.8 fewer grams of CO2 emissions.

The TCe 150hp petrol engine is now paired to a new six-speed dual-clutch automatic and is only available in combination with front-wheel drive. In 4x4, the same engine can send power to both axles via a six-speed manual. The latter is also fitted to the 2WD-only 1.0-litre TCe 90hp and 1.3-litre turbo-petrol TCe 130hp engines. A 1.0-litre TCe 100 bi-fuel (petrol or LPG) is also available.

On the diesel side, a dCi 115 works with a six-speed manual and comes in both 2WD and 4WD.

Re: Rumour: 2nd-gen Renault Duster not coming to India

The Dacia Sandero Stepway would be an absolute killer product in India. It is I think UK's cheapest CSUV, or indeed any car that is not a micro hatch.

Competent, built to cost though, looks stellar, FEATURE RICH (they did to the Euro / UK market what Kia did with the Seltos and loaded it with features) and if launched in the Rs 10-14 L, can complement the Kiger for those looking for something half a segment or so above.

+1

I think Duster AWD was the only car in India south of 15 lacs which could justify the SUV badge. Renault not launching the 2nd gen in our country is a lost opportunity, not only for the company but also for customers. Despite being a sedan guy, I am looking forward to the 3rd gen launch and would actually buy it if the magic carpet ride continues to be there. No other SUVish car has been able to pull my heart strings like this car.

Lastly for Renault, please give us a camouflage green colour whenever you re-launch the car
