Tata Tigor facelift spied testing

Thanks to Adel Moideen for sending these images in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts via this Team-BHP page!

The Tata Tigor facelift has been spotted testing in Pune. The car is likely to receive a revised exterior and updated engines.

Like the Tiago facelift, the Tigor is also expected to get Altroz-inspired styling based on Tata's Impact Design 2.0 philosophy. The rear of the car looks similar to the current Tigor though. It has clear lens wraparound tail lights, an LED high mounted stop lamp covering the top edge of the rear windshield and is likely to get a redesigned rear bumper. The test car seen here is equipped with 14-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Under the bonnet, the new Tigor is expected to get the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 84 BHP and 114 Nm of torque and a 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder diesel unit that puts out 69 BHP and 140 Nm of torque. Both powertrains are expected to be updated to meet BS-VI emission regulations. Transmission options are likely to remain unchanged.

Re: Tata Tigor facelift spied testing

Thanks for sharing Tushar! I like how Tata has kept the Tigor updated. The BS 6 as well as competition from others is keeping manufacturers in check.

Customers today no longer go for a car just because of the brand. The car should also be one that matches their expectations. The Tiago / Tigor twins already have been updated with JTP for the enthusiasts.

Looking forward to seeing what Tata adds this time to the car.

The 1.05L diesel won't be upgraded to meet BS-VI norms.

Tata is working hard on the BS-VI 1.5L diesel for the Nexon, Hornbill and the Altroz (detuned for the latter two). There is a chance that this detuned BS-VI version might make it's way under the Tigor's hood come 2020.

Re: Tata Tigor facelift spied testing

The problem with Tigor is the underwhelming engine. If Tata is not fixing it, then no matter how many features they add to this car, it won't make any significant impact on sales. Treat Tigor the way Maruti treats Dzire, rather than treating it just like the Tiago.

What is the need for so much camouflage for a minor facelift ?
