I am little confused with their diesel engine line up.

There are 3 1.5L engines which are getting carried forward to BS-VI.

1.5L 3 cylinder under TUV/Balero
1.5L 4 cylinder under Marazzo / XUV3OO
1.5L 4 cylinder (Renault DCi?) under Varito (aren't they supposed to pay Renault royalty for this?)

Does it make sense to keep so many similar capacity engines? Usually development cost, manufacturing overhead costs are shared between different models using same engines but with different state of tune with different turbo or such engine related parts.

Unless Mahindra is having many other Ford like tie up in pipe line where they see many more applications for these engines?

:OT Dear Mods..Can we have a separate thread on already launched or upcoming BS6 cars & bikes. It would help members are non members alike in getting relevant information.

Caught a few test mules from the Mahindra stable undergoing BS6 testing and facelifts of TUV300 and TUV300 Plus.
