Bingo. I have a 2013 xuv. Has niggles but works very well. In 20L bracket, not too many worthy contenders for a tough SUV. Comes back to xuv or hexa for the final decision.

The chances of a Vantablack Harrier Also increases chances of getting T-boned at night. Vantablack is made of carbon nanotubes and is "blackest" black absorbing 99.6% light. On the "brighter" side dings and dents may not be visible to the eye at all probably can be only "felt"!

With all the niggles sorted out and 4WD with auto gearbox, this will make way into many enthusiast's homes. To me the all black variant appears to be ubercool. But my test drive of Harrier was not that great and I felt it misses something, apart from being huge and spacious.

+1 on this. I have given up on waiting for it. Knowing TML it would be wise to allow them a few months to sort out the niggles after launch and with the launch itself not certain, we are looking at least middle of next year to get a fully baked product. This is assuming that they have already rectified the existing issues.

When will car manufacturers in India realize that special editions can also mean changes to the engine and suspension tuning and not just color/decals/interior trim changes . Could they not have tuned it a little more aggressively to produce and extra 10-20HP to go along with the dark look? How much effort would it have taken?

The two wheelers in Pune already ride as if the cars and even the PMT Buses don't exist. This would give them a valid reason . Tata, launch the automatic variant already instead of different paint schemes. Btw, this "Dark" version looks really fabulous. Loved it a lot.

I wouldn't be very enthusiastic for an AWD Harrier. Unless I'm completely off, it'll be FWD-biased, which does not flatter SUV use-cases. Can't wait for someone to put an AWD model (in the future) through its paces and overheat the rear diffs, since it'll be underdeveloped-probably.

If they did that, the car would have to go through a complete homologation process again, which not only is expensive but takes 4-6 months time, if I recall correctly. It doesn't make financial sense to make extensive changes for a one-off variant.

It is different when the entire lineup is called "all-new" and all we get is a bunch of stickers and some bulbs.

Or maybe they have a deal with the Fiat-Chrysler to implement a low power tune so that the Harrier does not eat into the Compass's sales.

If they put in on their own right hand it would have been okay. But Tata will apply balm on Mahindra's right hand .

re: The all-black Tata Harrier

I saw an all black Harrier in front of a temple yesterday, decked up to get the post-delivery Pooja done. For me at least, it did not make a great impact in person. Tata would only help themselves to bring in the AT with the BS6 ASAP.

No, the more powerful "Buzzard" with 170 HP & Auto box and 7 seats will launch next year. I have been following it for quite a while now.

When Bruce Wayne wants a stealth SUV but can't use the Tumbler (my absolute favourite batmobile).
