I must admit this is quite something. I'm so impressed that you've managed to not just remember all the models - but even the variants (though in a few places you seem to not recollect, like with the Ertiga), even with the bikes and the tractors! I reckon you've only fallen short of giving us the registrations... If nothing else, I envy your memory...

Just a trick, trace from your childhood what all vehicles you've driven and voila!! lol.

Lol, that was bad on my part, I should have written like - have driven Ertiga VDi and ZDi & VXi CNG! Same goes for Swift and others where I have used "/". stupid:

What a thread, Thanks for bringing this up

I dug deep into my memory to fetch the list. Will post, so that I remember as well :)

Fiat Padmini - What a gentle car
Fiat Palio - Sounds like a Ferrari
Fiat Punto diesel - My first exposure at driving a 90PS engine, scared me
Fiat Punto 1.2 petrol - The slouch. AC would have made it a snail. Poor visibility too
Ford Figo old - The car we owned and then sold. What a handler, redlined at 7K RPM, 90 Kmph in 2nd gear, we have thoroughly enjoyed it
Ford Fiesta S - A short trip on this, this was with even bigger tyres. Precision handling at its best
Ford Ikon Diesel - Noisy one
Mec C class LHD - Scared me, as I was driving on the wrond side. My legs were shaking when I got down
Maruti Omni - Our first family car. I have fond memories of being overtaken, by trucks
Maruti Zen Non PS - Our carpool car. Loved every bit of it. Windows down driving at its best
Maruti Celerio automatic - Meh
Maruti Alto 2008 - My first possession. We still have it. My father drives it. Its just about okay. Grossly Underpowered.
Mahindra Xylo - Scary. This was my only tall car drive. Brute power, tough handler. It is a weapon in somebody's hands
Maruti Swift diesel - Brother in law's car. Have driven this on highway rides. Beautiful gear shift, decent steering. But not a car you enjoy in. Weak AC, bad sound insulation
Maruti Swift Petrol - Terrific petrol engine. This car was better than our Figo only in this aspect
Maruti Dzire Long - My father in law's car. Nothing like the swift. This one is tough to drive
Hyundai Getz - Meh, poor engine
Hyundai Santro second gen - Better than our current Alto. Sad, they stopped this
Hyundai i20 (2012) - was only a test drive, like the Getz, poor petrol engine
Hyundai i10 - Highway drive, like our Alto, underpowered, and weak handler
VW Polo Diesel - Our current car. A refined beast. These days, it even forgets that it needs fuel
VW Polo 1.2 GT TSI - Scarier power, toys in your hands, the gearshift etc. Not sure how it is, to live with one
VW Vento Diesel - Only a TD, we were trying for the GT-TDI and ended up Test driving the Vento instead
Honda City - Hated the steering on it, didn't enjoy this so much, maybe I was driving in traffic
Honda Jazz (2011) - This was a rocket science car for those days, Sad, that it never sold many
Honda Brio - City car, you could steer it with your little finger. Sad they have stopped this.
Chevrolet spark - Only a TD, felt awkward, the seating and the steering positions
Skoda Rapid - Was driving my friend's Rapid, with a 215 rubber, It was impossible to steer
Renault Pulse - Test drove. Meh, a Taxi
Toyota Etios (2012) - What an engine. Sadly the interiors were built for a taxi
Tata Indica Diesel - This one is an old gen car in the current generation. Not one that you will enjoy owning
Renault Duster - Only reversed and parked. Felt like a Truck

Now, I cannot repeat this excercise for bikes. Too tired

I was recently talking to a friend about how much driving has reduced due to the pandemic and WFH situations. We decided to total up self driving distances along with our vehicles used , right from the time we started driving. It made an interesting list. It ended up being a huge number for me. Would be great to know your experiences as well. So here goes

1985/7 Ambassador Mk 4 12,380 (family car, I actually kept a pilot like log book)
1988/90 Premier Padmini Starline 7590
1990-93 Hero Puch First "own" vehicle, bought with my earnings 33880(odo reading, still have it in garage want to restore it)
1992/94 Sipani Dolphin (first own car) 55409 sold this for more than I had bought it for.
1994/98 Maruti Zen , loved this like no other, the original bean car 135000
99/2002(I was in SE Asia and used, in no particular order Toyota Celica GT Spyder, Perodua Kancil, Proton Wira Aeroback, Honda Accord, Mitsubhishi Eclipse ) collectively 140000
2003/2009 A limited edition Daewoo Cielo, (had a modified engine, slots for radio coms, extra antennas and a lockable strong box in the boot) that was made for the Indian Gov, got it as my FIL was alloted/ allowed to buy after his service 155000
2009/2021 Ritz Zxi 12900, still have it. Mother in law drives it for her limited shopping/Banking runs
2005/2014 i worked for a healthcare NGO which entailed huge amounts of rural driving on minor roads (i have driven again in no particular order Fiat Uno, Tempo Traveler, a massively modified Iveco Truck(that is another story that deserves its own thread) and an Eicher Bus (converted to a mobile clinic) collectively about 100000
2015/2021 A Bajaj avenger 220, (wife's bike, she is the two wheeler person, i am the car guy. In fact i was super impressed on our first date decades ago that she was riding a Shogun)4000(not allowed too much of use in thislol:)
2015/2021 Toyota Corolla Altis 125443 km got this fully loaded car from my lawyer who had sparingly and lovingly used it.
What is your driving log?
