No. But can anyone share a link of the same.
Did any one take a TD of the ford ecosport bs6 diesel btw? I have taken it and feel the punch missing compared to bs4. Drivability has improved though. Demanding some performance at 40 on 4th and 50 on 5th makes the engine lug. Not the case with bs4. Can anybody confirm? |
40 kmph is definitely not the right speed for the 5th gear, even in the BSIV version that I have. 55-60 is the most comfortable speed to engage the 5th gear. Engaging 5th gear at 40 kmph will make any car lug IMO, not just Ecosport.

What I meant was the engine was not happy to pull at 40 in gear or at 50 in 5th gear. I've seen better response in other diesels of this segment as I've driven most of them, or even the older EcoSport which had better response. That being said I forgot to look at the RPM needle stupid:
Just for clarification I did not mean engaging 5th at a speed of 40.
But felt bumper to bumper traffic drivability was better.
These were all initial impressions and I know all is about to change after I put a few thousand klicks on my car!
It seems that Ford has increased the prices for the Diesel Titanium MT from Rs. 9,99,900 to Rs. 10,13,000.
I can see small prices increases for the Titanium+ and S variants but since most of their sales traditionally come from this variant I guess it will have a significant impact from next month.

So soon after launch of BS6 variants? Generally introductory prices last for a month or two, isn't it?

Well this thread was started on 20th Jan. So I guess it's past a month at least.
I am not sure why they increased the prices though. It will significantly increase on-road prices in certain states.

Sorry, I should have mentioned the source. I can see the prices on the model compare page for Ecosport on Fords website.
As for your quote, my understanding is that prices on the day of billing are applicable. Seniors here would be able to confirm.

This changes a lot of things! The road tax would now be in the higher slot and that's a 50k more. TCS comes too. A corresponding increase in the insurance goes without saying.
I am seriously considering cancelling my booking.
Thanks for the timely warning!
I got a call from SA that price hike is planned from march onwards. If this is true, ecosport titanium shall definitely not be VFM (due to TCS, insurance etc). Also, there is no change in features planned in near future. (no android auto inclusion).

There is no change in Titanium model it is 9,99,900 all other models bumped by 13,000
I think ford considered this only for Titanium as the price jump will bump up huge taxes.

Yes. I went ahead with the purchase and took delivery on the 12th of march.:thumbs up
Nice to here that..Mine on 6th March.
How does the bs6 diesel compare with the outgoing bs4 in terms of performance and drivability?? I have read many places that the second gear turbo lag was bothersome in the bs4 and do those extra 10nm in bs6 show at all? Any changes to tuning?
I ask because I m looking for a new car with a budget of 15L OTR and after jumping between various options in think EcoSport S makes most sense -in terms of safety, features and aesthetics. But I have heard mixed reviews of the tdci. Most of them rave about its drivability at the same time crib about turbo lag and uphill and overtaking abilities.
I would really appreciate it if takers of the bs6 could share their thoughts. Thanks.

Hi carriage.retorq, I just started compiling my thread on TDCi BS4 vs BS6. I am just collecting some fine details and should be able to post it later this week.
I hope it will be covering all that you want to know. :D
