Great! Looks like BS6 engines are not costing that much which we all thought of initially or what rumors we heard of in media. In turn it's a very good news for both customers & auto manufacturer's. Yesterday Ford launched with just 13K more, Bullet launched Himalayan with 6K more and now Celerio with 15k. May be difference will be little more for diesel engines but hoping to not cross 50 K max. Let's hope for the best.

Re: BS6 Maruti Suzuki Celerio costs around Rs. 15,000 more

Not sure this price hike is on what joy... When Ford has managed a price hike of just Rs. 13000 for the diesel variants of the Ecosport, Celerio, with petrol only engine option costing 15000 more seems hilarious. It is nothing but, taking advantage of market leader position.

Looking from an other perspective, Ecosport's dragon petrol was very recently developed and should've already been up to BS6 standards. Ford probably got the opportunity to price it also higher than the BS4 without incurring any cost thereby being able to cross subsidize for the diesel BS6 engine price hike.

However, even if Maruti had increased the price of the Celerio by 50K instead of 15K, it would still sell in thousands!

Tell that to Toyota, the BS6 variants of Crysta are pricier than their BSIV.

Seeing some good sense prevailing with the manufacturers to not overprice the BSVI variants.
