I been hearing this rumour for quite a while now,but now even folks at,The Hindu feels we would see a facelifted tavera by the end of the year.

I hope GM brings in a more refined engine[less noisier too] and puts in a better gearbox apart from the cosmetic changes.

Remember that both cars[referring to the tata safari and the Chevrolet tavera are due for a facelift later this year and hence the resale value may take a hit.

Just dug out their 2.5l common rail engine specs from the isuzu france site,

So we have a new tavera with beige trims, but what about changes to the engine.

Also the isuzu panther did it look like this:

Maybe the next facelift for the tavera in india even.

no. isuzu panther was same as our tavera. and i think the tavera in chevy spark pic is not all new. coz it will not come with only new beige interiors.

the tyres look SUVish.

The Isuzu Panther I keep seeing has something different than the Indian Tavera. I cant quite put my finger on it, but probably its the larger glass area?

Sajo, i guess its also higher than the Tavera, which is designed more as a people mover.

i feel ,GM needs to act fast cos the Tavera is one of the dated vehicles on indian roads .

The Isuzu Panther is the same as the tavera except for that it came with spare wheel on the tailgate along with side claddings, fatter tyres and alloys to match and biege interiors. Have seen it in person....and it looks quite desirable for an MPV if you know what i mean.

I guess the best we can expect in the new Tavera is everything that comes on the Panther i.e.

I second that thought. But yeah, probably a little improved ground clearance would help.

Yep, I have seen that one long before the Indian version was launched. The one I am referring to, is a sort of a hybrid, with bowtie logo on the grille and the steering wheel, but Panther badgings on the rear.

Isuzu is the best manufacturer of diesel engines in japan. Their engine and gearbox are known for their bulletproof reliability. My friend is using an isuzu gearbox (1982) which is serving its third vehicle . might have completed million kms and still running perfectly in his diesel amby.

man that would be a great news if its true.
and i hope the shape of tavera's body remains the same. for i think it mimics the gmc of america often shown in the movies used by the fbi and other govt agencies of america. i just love that suv shape.

Guys,
Sorry for bumping up an old thread but is there any further news on the 'new' Tavera a.k.a Isuzu Panther? Even though the Neo facelify makes it look better, is GM India going to CRDi it soon?
