Mumbai: Fiat Chrysler Automobile India, which has found quick success with its sole locally made Jeep Compass, on Monday said the entire range of the SUV has been upgraded with BS-VI engines.

Following the upgrades, the company also announced a marginal price revision for the new models ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 1,10,000.

"Local production of the BS-VI range has already begun in its Ranjangaon facility. The upgraded range will be available to customers with both BS-VI petrol and diesel engines options, with immediate effect," the company said in a statement.

Partha Datta, president and managing director at FCA India claimed that they are the first OEM to roll out a BS-VI powertrain in the premium compact SUV category in June 2019 and now the entire Jeep Compass range is BS-VI compliant.

This price hike makes the already overpriced compass look even worse.

This is a high margin low volume car for Jeep and they don't seem to be too bothered on volumes. As usual they will sell good quantities of the 2.0 liter multijet engines.
