Maruti-Suzuki launches BS-VI compliant WagonR S-CNG, priced from Rs 5.25 lakh

Quote:
New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki has launched the BS-VI compliant variant of WagonR S-CNG in India on Friday, at a starting price of Rs 5.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Available in Lxi and Lxi (O) variant options, the hatchback is priced up to Rs 5.32 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

As Maruti Suzuki claims, this strategy is in line with Indian government's vision of reducing oil import and enhancing the share of natural gas in the energy basket of the country from 6.2 per cent now to 15 per cent by 2030.

There seems to be a trend where market leaders in India do not risk offering completely loaded top variants of their models with CNG (especially Maruti) or automatics (Maruti earlier with Ritz/A-Star/2nd generation Dzire, and still Hyundai with Creta, i10 Nios Diesel).
