Re: Maruti Ignis facelift images leaked

All Maruti cars are beginning to resemble Mahindra cars now. Next they will implant this buck tooth grille in the Swift too when time comes for it's makeover. Maruti has been successfully infiltrated.

Re: Maruti Ignis facelift images leaked

When the Ignis came out, everyone were saying the front looks good, but the rear is awful. Now they should be happy. The front fascia is also quirky now

I don't foresee this version setting the sales chart on fire.

I was just watching the same. The lady even after the launch said its a surprise package and its an urban SUV and everyone can glide over off roads with ease. The grills are the surprise package I guess. And Mr. Raman repeating the toughness of the metals used on the Ignis again wasn't ringing any right bells.
Somewhere in my mind the Jimny was flashing its lights. Maybe tomorrow ?

Re: Maruti Ignis facelift images leaked

Maruti Suzuki Ignis (face-lift ) Launch:

Quote:
Ignis makes the switch to the BS6-spec version of Suzuki’s 1.2-litre K12 engine; 5-speed manual and AMT auto options are on offer, as before. The engine makes the same 83hp and 113Nm of torque as its outgoing BS4 version.
Quote:
Maruti has added two new exterior colour options - Lucent Orange and Turquoise Blue - and three new dual-tone colour options - Nexa Blue with black, Lucent Orange with black, and Nexa blue with silver.

The changes to the cabin are more discrete. While the basic design of the dashboard remains unchanged, the 7.0-inch touchscreen gets an upgrade with the shift to Maruti’s latest SmartPlay Studio infotainment system, whch has on-board navigation and responds to voice commands. Suzuki’s S-Connect connectivity suite is also available as an option for the first time on the Ignis.

Re: Maruti Ignis facelift images leaked

I frankly feel Maruti is confused about how to present IGNIS.
IGNIS needs to be repositioned as a product.
Its has its own siblings to deal with in that price band.
Marketing it as a Small SUV is a mistake, no wonder S-Cross and IGNIS don't sell well.
Rather they should be honest and stay true to what the car actually is.

The design does not look good in premium colours IMO.
Also sad are the roofrails, looks like they have been put up zabardasti.
Its targeted at young urban families, and hence should have more features that what is currently available.

IGNIS should have been marketed as a small compact and sporty car, with bright funky/cheerful colors with loads of customization options.
NEXA does not have anything like that in its lineup and it would have added some variety.

Re: Maruti Ignis facelift images leaked

A new grill, front and rear bumpers, faux skid plates, two new colors, BS-6 compliant engine, new pattern on seat fabric and an updated infotainment system. No info about the prices, yet. During the presentation, Mr Raman mentioned that the luggage space is 275 liters. The pre-facelift one was rated at 260 liters. Apart from that, there is absolutely no change.

Re: Maruti Ignis facelift images leaked

I am not sure I see much to distinguish this from the currently available model. IT has been a sales dud, as per Maruti's lofty sale standards, and it does not look like this new model will change much in that regard.

Otherwise it is a competent and reasonably fun to pilot car. Interior space however is severely lacking.

Re: Maruti Ignis facelift images leaked

They could have done away with the ugly rear end design, but they have not. This car has lot of potential in terms of interior space, interior design, comfort and ergonomics, but the looks are not appealing at all. They missed a chance to correct their mistakes and I don't think this is going to change anything in their sales figures.

Interior Space is excellent when compared to the competition in this segment. Ground Clearance again is excellent at 180 mm.

Yes the rear has been the sore thumb for the Ignis but alas, they have done nothing to improve it. Another thing I noticed from the spec sheet is that, they are offering the SmartPlay Infotainment System even now only in the Alpha Variant. They should have cascaded this to the Zeta variants atleast given that we are in 2020 and Hyundai offers TouchScreen systems on the Santro at a lower price.
