Looks like JLR has moved up prices of the Defender this past month. They have also opened bookings of the V8 edition for an eye watering INR 1.91 Cr. While the PHEV versions start at INR 1.2 Cr for the SE version. The 6 cylinder 300D diesel has moved up by about INR 15-20 L! All prices are ex-showroom. They have also dropped the lower variants of the 6 cylinder petrol, now only available on the range topping X variant!

Chip shortage stops Land Rover Defender production in Nitra.

Land Rover has paused production in Nitra, Slovakia, as a result of the ongoing semiconductor shortage.



The factory, which produces the firm's big-selling Defender and seven-seat Discovery, is the latest Jaguar Land Rover plant to be impacted by the chip shortage.

There has been no official timeframe given for the reopening of the Slovakian site, which has a capacity of 150,000 units annually - more than a fifth of JLR's output in 2019, before the pandemic struck.
