Re: BMW X1 facelift launched at Rs. 35.90 lakh

that's an estate if I ever saw one. The X1 is probably the most confused BMW around, really stuck in no man's land. I see no reason for anyone to buy an X1 over a 3 series if one can afford the extra 4 lakhs or so.

The ugly grill looks less ugly in black with a silver surround, but absolutely awful in full silver! My God, BMW!

Any reviews of this dual-clutch? Does it have the same issues normally associated with DCTs?

With around 3 lakhs less than the xLine, the SportX maybe the best trim to go for (if petrol is the fuel choice). Will miss on the larger touch screen, Apple Carplay and ambient lighting, but it looks much cleaner with black grille.

Re: BMW X1 facelift launched at Rs. 35.90 lakh

I don't like the grill at all. Why did they join it at the centre? That chrome in the middle joining the 2 parts looks so out of place.

I do like the lights though. These look better than before.

But this is such a minor update to the car and the only actual change is BS6 engine. A lot of the features like ambient lighting, USB-C ports were available in Aug onwards.

While the prices are close to the outgoing model, one must remember the discounts on the older car for the last one year were ranging from 10 lakhs minimum to 15-16lakhs towards January. Which means there is no point in buying one now. Wait for the 8-10 lakhs discount to start in few months and then get one.

At current prices the front wheel drive X1 20d xline trim will be 50lakhs on road Bangalore which makes no sense whatsoever.

I was very interested in the X1 when looking out in January. The choice was between the Kodiaq and the X1. However a few things kept me away which might not be valid for others but useful for some:

1. FWD primarily. I know I know, the Kodiaq is similar. But the point is if you're buying a BMW it should be RWD as IMO that's what the brand stands for. So a FWD BMW wasn't really a BMW except the badge. I wouldn't be doing justice to the badge by getting a FWD BMW. The Skoda had AWD with a bit of offroad electronics.
2. At that price to not get Apple Carplay and Android Auto. I know wireless Apple carplay is added now but I am an Android user.
3. A lot of missing features like front parking sensors, no electric tailgate, no keyless entry!

The biggest positive was the engine performance and the dynamics which even though FWD are the best in class.

I think this makes more sense for an entry level SUV from BMW.

Probably that's how they have been able to price it at a premium of just Rs 40-60k more than its BS 4 version?

I've heard the engine, handling and suspension have gone a little soft compared to the pre-facelift version, am hoping to take a test drive this weekend to check it out.

BSI & BRI looks very reasonably priced.

Re: BMW X1 facelift launched at Rs. 35.90 lakh

I'm thinking of buying the petrol sport X variant. OTR in Pune around 44.5L. Could anyone advise the maximum amount of discounts that can be bargained at this point of time considering the post covid lockdown situation for dealers. I should mention this is in Pune, where the lockdown has officially been extended (with certain relaxations) till the end of June, as of now. Thanks.

Re: BMW X1 facelift launched at Rs. 35.90 lakh

I have been talking with BMW for a 330i for the last couple of weeks. Yesterday they visited my office for explaining different finance options and they came in demo X1. Top of the line Diesel variant ( sorry do not remember the trim name ).
So they invited me for a test drive. My personal experience in good cars has been Skoda Yeti, Superb, Mercedes GLA and Ford Endeavor although we have Maruti Alto and Ignis as well.
I have to say, the interior of X1 is shocking ! It is so bad that I could not believe that I am inside one of the three premium German brands' cars. The Tacho-Speedo dials are pasted in an after thought, the buttons, the plastic trim running across the dash, overall everything was so distasteful. (even the 3 series does not feel that premium when you compare to say a Skoda Superb).
The ride felt very bumpy on bad Kolkata roads (and I drive a yeti ).
Good things were very nice visibility, butter smooth engine and gear shifts.
Every mercedes I sat in ( I sat inside every merc inside their showroom) feels like a Mercedes but X1 was a huge disappointment.

Re: BMW X1 facelift launched at Rs. 35.90 lakh

Saw this white BMW X1 S-Drive on the highway with a strange registration number. Don't know if this was a showroom model or otherwise.
