Unfortunately, the WR-V the way it looked back then, and the way it looks now, is not something promising. Even they haven't changed any transmission options. The front face looks too busy from any angle.

I fail to understand why Honda cannot offer a Auto transmission in WRV? They have a good engine+gear box combination in segment below (Amaze) and why a miss in a premium hatchback. I guess there are enough intelligent minds at Honda which can sense the market pulse and an runaway success model. Despite having a tough time, why can't they learn from Kia or Hyundai?

Honda should realize that this engine surely doesn't belong in such a class of car! Was good in the Brio and should have stopped with the Amaze at max.

Re: BS6 Honda WR-V facelift. Edit: Launched at 8.08 lakhs.

The WRV 1.2's death knell has started ringing.

WRV 1.2 SV @8.67 L vs S-Cross 1.5 Sigma @8.39 L

Spend 50-60k extra to add fog lamps, touchscreen, choice of alloys & you're good to go! You get a car from a higher segment, with more space & a better engine (read better drivability).

Honda can no longer hide it's greed.

Re: BS6 Honda WR-V facelift. Edit: Launched at 8.08 lakhs.

Metrosexuals/Urbanites are moving to automatics and WRV is no Bolero to have fan-base in hinterland towns. So, who is this MT WRV targeted at? Creta/Seltos have 3 types of AT transmissions on their range. Sonet will have two. But, the bozos at Honda live in their own dream world. They have an excellent CVT doing duty in Amaze. But, no, they wouldn't throw that in, in WRV. God knows what runs through their heads.

Re: BS6 Honda WR-V facelift. Edit: Launched at 8.08 lakhs.

Maruti Suzuki has been criticized for many things wrong in their cars. But they have got a 1.5L petrol engine in a sub 4M car and priced it reasonably well. It shows how much is possible with the WRV. Not to mention the utter lack of interest in putting the CVT+Diesel combo in the WRV or Jazz.

This car with 1.5L engine and CVT will give a run for most cars in the segment. It has a sunroof as well, so that latest fad/attraction is covered too.

If Honda can be a little less greedy with the pricing, it will go a long way in improving the sales of the cars from the company. It is as if they are not bothered about selling most cars but just ok being par for the course.

Crazy considering the times we live in.

Here is the official website of Brazilian WRV 2021:
https://www.honda.com.br/automoveis/...-drive-virtual

Look at the offering here:
  1. 1.5L 16V SOHC i-vtec Flexone engine
  2. Magic Seat - exclusive modular seat configuration system
  3. VSA, HSA, ESS and TPMS systems
  4. Exclusive set of suspensions
  5. Photochromic internal rearview (anti-glare)
  6. CVT
  7. 6 Airbag
  8. ISOFIX
  9. Cornering Lights
With Indian rupee of 8.8 to 12.3(CVT)
Indian WRV has 1.2L i-vtec and none of the above.
Indian Honda WRV is priced at 8.6 to 9.8.
Clearly shows Honda's lethargic effort for Indian market.

Attached here is brochure of Brazilian WRV 2021:

Re: BS6 Honda WR-V facelift. Edit: Launched at 8.08 lakhs.

They should change the tagline for honda to "The power of greed". What this car deserves is a 1.5 litre engine and a better fascia and Honda can watch it fly of the shelves. Instead we get a hatchback based 1.2 litre appliance and an ageing dashboard. All Honda can do is watch the likes of Seltos etc fly off the shelves. Been dreaming Honda? Time to wake up.

Re: BS6 Honda WR-V facelift. Edit: Launched at 8.08 lakhs.

Its not just Honda, its dealers too have a lackadaisical attitude. When i went to enquire about a possible upgrade to a CRV over the City, the SA (who had sold me the City), offered the WRV since the CRV was expensive and also made to order.
His rationale? It has better GC and has a manual diesel even though I clearly told him I am interested only in ATs going forward.
