The carmaker is looking to manufacture ventilators based on existing designs of other brands that have already been approved. The company would create infrastructure at its Halol facility or even set up a separate unit to manufacture ventilators in India.

MG is also developing its own low-cost ventilator. A prototype is expected to be ready within a week. It could be put into production once it receives the regulatory approvals.

Earlier, MG had announced a donation of Rs. 2 crore for government hospitals and health institutions providing medical assistance in Gurgaon, Haryana and Halol, Gujarat.

Re: Covid-19: MG plans to produce ventilators in India

That is some smart and cheap advertisement. They have their test drive vehicles available with dealer which are idle during lock down period any way. They just need to bear the cost of drivers and fuel. In return they get good publicity which is very much required for all Chinese brands.

MG marketing rocks!
