Re: Hyundai now offers a customisable standard warranty; pick your duration & km

So does this mean that one can opt for 5 yr - 50000 kms and then if by the 3rd year you find that the running is almost 40,000 kms, one can get the additional warranty which increases the 50K kms to 1L for the 5th year?

Re: Hyundai now offers a customisable standard warranty; pick your duration & km

Makes immense sense. 5 years / 50,000 km works perfectly for me - most of my cars have done between 40,000 and 50,000 km in 5 years. Took the 5 year / 60,000 km extended warranty and BSI Plus packages for my X3. Would have gone for a 6 year package - but they have only a 6 year 120,000 km package - which costs just too much. Would have loved a 6 year / 60,000 km package if it were priced right.

I think warranty options offer value.

Now that I have seen this thread, makes me wonder if the dealers are deliberately hiding this information. When I was buying the Venue 2 weeks ago, this option was not even mentioned anywhere or explained by the SA. I ended up buying the 4th year / 80,000 extended warranty by paying extra. If I was aware of options, I would have chosen differently. Is there an option to increase this to 5 years / 100,000kms by paying incremental cost?

Now am sure these are tactics used by dealers to make money.
