A new beginning, but quite unlikely to pickup momentum in near future. My rationale is not just cheap labor or employment potential, but for safety reasons. I can’t imagine to what extent people will play with that nozzle. May be just to check if it is flowing or dripping or fighting over spilling or with a nozzle in one hand and a cigar on the other or to even attempt stealing given the golden rates. It is just so unsafe.

Also, it is a half hearted attempt, there is no automation as such, they have simply wrote down SOP of fuel dispenser. The move could partly be also to cut labor costs or due to scarcity of migrant workforce.
