re: Tata Nexon, Altroz prices increased from August 10, 2020

If the price correction is to accomodate HBX, then it means TML product management is being run by incompetent people. You don't kill your higher segment product to make way for your lower segment product. What is wrong with HBX overlapping with lower variants of Nexon. I don't think this has to do with HBX. It is some other convoluted over the top strategy by their product management.

It's intriguing that XUV 300 drops prices and Nexon becomes costlier. And on the same day. Sonet should be challenged with matching features, not just pricing changes. Wrong timing. The new pricing could dent Tata Motors' best seller

I'm suspecting this is more to align with the upcoming "festive season" and Sonet (in case of Nexon). A slightly higher sticker price will give a much better room for the sales teams at dealerships to offer further discounts on paper.

Even with a reduced price (like the XUV3OO) - the Sonet is going to chomp away on the market share. Its a better strategy to offer the inevitable discounts rather than price cuts IMO.

Risky strategy. Physical walk-ins are few and far between. People do their price comparo at home these days, then make that customary call. So the salesman might not get a chance to drop his cards on the negotiating table at all. Also, New models are more welcomed and are in a higher consideration set by buyers. I'd have resorted to a drop in prices, if I were Tata Motors (Like Mahindra XUV300)

re: Tata Nexon, Altroz prices increased from August 10, 2020

Yes, the top end variants of Nexon are not VFM ever since the BS6 price update, but can't blame Tata Motors here. They need to stay afloat with whatever little they are making.

Even though the top end Nexon may have a few features above the competition, it is hard to convince at those prices. However, they can make up for it by adding a few essential features like remote locking, basic stereo and if possible rear wash wipe for the base variant with a slight price increase.

Unfortunately, the truth is that people have tripped over bling features rather than the actual car experience that purists love, as time progresses people would want lesser and lesser experience of actually driving a car but more of comfort features that makes driving all the more effortless, or rather sedate.

And what's worse is that despite all the comfort features of a 5-star hotel in a car, people still resort to in hand mobile usage while driving and do not bother to use the indicators while turning. Duh, so much for bling & comfort features.

According to someone who works with Tata motors dealership the marginal increase in most variants has been to counter the handling charges issue. Off late there were too many escalations from customers regarding handling charges. So, they increased the ex showroom price with more margin for dealers and decreased the handling charges.

I think the Nexon (petrol) price list is wrong. There are too many inconsistencies.

XZ+ (S) is costlier than XZA+ (S) (with AMT) which cant be the case.

XZ+ DT and XZA+ DT have same price (10.24) which cant be the case.

the difference between XZ+(S) Single tone and DT is 10k whereas in XZA+(S) it is 64K, in XZ+ 40k, XZA+ 20k.

I think all the prices have been mixed up. so we should wait for the official site update to get exact details.

re: Tata Nexon, Altroz prices increased from August 10, 2020

Damn. I had a discussion with my friend 2 days ago and after an hour long conversation he decided the Xuv 300 was too expensive and the Nexon was the way to go. Now in just 2 days time the XUV300 has undergone a massive price reduction and the Nexon price has increased. Since he is looking for petrol version the price hike of the Nexon is damaging and the XUV300 price reduction was heavily for the petrol variant. Looks like I'll have to redo the entire discussion again. How much things change in just 2 days!

If he decides to wait a bit then Kia will come into the picture and that will muddle up the decision even more. If Kia matches the Nexon new pricing it's going to be bad news for Tata.

re: Tata Nexon, Altroz prices increased from August 10, 2020

Is this a preparation for the Kia Sonet? However, I feel Nexon should undercut the Sonet by 5-10% to stay in the competition. It's purely brand perception.

The facelifted Nexon is a good car but Sonet is coming with all the Engine/Gearbox combo and Nexon (even if it's actually not) will start looking less vfm.

Rushlane guys just messed it up in the petrol Nexon pricing list. Here are the prices according to company website:

So it is a uniform price hike of 14,500/- for all variants except XE.

I might sound little bit irrational but i wish there is one more variant exactly like XZ+S petrol but without alloy wheels for 9.9 lacs.

Bhpians from rest of the india may see above proposal as total useless but people from karnataka will definitely understand me. With this version I could easily save 90k to 1lac (taxes+insurance+TCS+vehicle cost diff) in KA, and love to buy alloy wheels at dealer level.

Roads and road taxes in KA are like

I've spotted a lot of errors in that Rush Lane price list that has been put up here. They seem to have deleted it from their own website. Most of the variants see an increase of approximately Rs. 14,500 in their prices and nothing like 55,000 and 95,000.
