Maruti is gearing up to launch a new variant of the S-Cross. Based on the base Sigma variant, it will be called as the S-Cross Plus.

In terms of new features, we have learnt that the S-Cross Plus will get a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a rear parking camera and chrome elements like a window frame kit and more.

The S-Cross is powered by a BS6-compliant, 1.5-litre petrol engine that comes with a mild-hybrid system. The engine produces 103 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm @ 4,400 rpm. The mild-hybrid system uses a lithium-ion dual battery and has idle start-stop, torque assist and brake energy regeneration functions. As the Plus version is based on the Sigma, it is likely that the carmaker will offer only a manual transmission option.

The S-Cross Plus is also expected to come equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

These features can all be a dealer-fitment or an Optional package at maximum like Tata's Rhytm/Style/Luxe packs for Altroz. If Maruti is calling them a new variant, I hope there are factory-made changes as well.
After all there is only so much MSIL can do with having only 4 K-series engines of various capacities for their 12+ cars.

Looks like this is about crome inserts, coat hangers etc. On top of that, they fancy asking us to block our calendars!

This is just some cosmetic changes! and they call it PLUS!!! You really have to give it to Maruti in their ingenuity in fooling people. Why can't they provide a modern Auto box? That will help a otherwise good car like s-cross. Instead they are busy finding places to put chrome applique on.

It might so be that later they launch a new paint color and calls it ++.

Can’t the 1.5L petrol be mated to the baleno’s CVT? At least that would be somewhat better than the spartan TC box. Biggest car seller of the country with more than half the market share can’t get a decent Automatic box is just baffling

Plus/minus/sports stickering jobs with chrome and touchscreen systems is just so sad to see

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Plus launched at Rs. 8.39 Lakh.

The entry-level Sigma grade can now be bought with free accessories worth Rs. 36,000 for the customers not wanting to avail the discounts in the form of S-Cross Plus.

Some of the features include Pioneer audio with four speakers, antenna lead, fog lamps, wheel covers, parcel tray and black finished spoiler.

What Maruti should try is bringing the AWD variant of S-Cross available in international markets. That will perfectly fill the void left by Duster AWD of a compact comfortable practical 5 seater AWD crossover

What Maruti should be fixing?

1. Absence of a good Diesel engine
2. Absence of a decent turbo petrol
3. Absence of an optional AWD variant
4. Insane pricing for that lacklustre engine for such a heavy car.

What is Maruti trying to fix?

1. Stereo
2. Wheel covers
3. Fog lamps
4. Antenna

Just wait till December and the sigma variant will be cheaper than this with discounts.
