Another of those videos that has surfaced - a bit more detailed I thought. It's the AMT top variant - non turbo version.
Gives a fair perspective.

Got an update from one of the Renault dealership guy. Price is going to be 5.5 to 8 lakhs. CVT will be coming after few months. As of now AMT and manual will be the only option available

Well, that is gonna be a bit of a setback for people wanting a ‘proper’ auto box.

Any idea when exactly is the plan to launch the CVT?

Bdw, if this is the launch price, then for sure it is a sweet deal (even though it missed on a few features compared to the Magnite). :thumbs up

If this indicative pricing is to be a reality, 8L turbo AMT top end, this will give a proper headache to Nexon and XUV 3OO, as well as Swift etc.
Nice move.

Good move by Renault/Nissan, if customers are wanting CVT, they go with Magnite, for AMT Kiger.

Killing 2 birds with one stone, brilliant:Cheering:

Turbo petrol will come only with CVT/Manual. NA petrol gets AMT/Manual. So AMT variants can be a direct competition to cars in swift segment. Not with Nexon/XUV3OO.

The Nissan Magnite Turbo XV-Pre (Manual) costs 8.45L ex-showroom. As per the leaked prices, the Kiger Turbo RXZ(Manual) would be 45k cheaper, will come with 4-airbags but will miss out on ESP, Traction control, Cruise control, TPMS & 360-degree camera.

How good it is to have 1 Litre NA Engine - 3 Cylinder with AMT? Btw who is the supplier of AMT (ZF/Marelli?)

Any idea what time is the price annoucement of the Kiger today?

General trend is at 12pm is what I think. But it’s already an hour past 12.

Renaults strategy is beyond my comprehension. They did this with the Triber too, launched the car silently and media drives were arranged a month or two later. Today theres no indication or any unveil link anywhere, i think this will be settled with a press release later in the day. What a dampener. On the other hand Nissan handled the launch of the Magnite in a flawless manner. Is Renault being complacent , is this incompetence or is this a new way to cut costs?

As far as i know, their AMT has been co-developed between Dacia and ZF. Regarding the performance, Kwid 1.0 manual is quite fun to drive but struggles on inclines with moderate load even more so with AC on :Frustrati.

While i haven't driven the AMT version, judging from what i've read here and elsewhere, the AMT will be good for city use but not much else because i've read reports of the AMT kwid rolling back from standstill on inclines in D mode.

Now the Kiger will be heavier, so the 1.0 NA should not be amongst the pick of engines (same with Magnite as per reviews) unless one's use case and budget restricts them to that version. Regarding the AMT on 1.0 NA Kiger, best to wait for expert reviews.
