Re: Is it necessary for "fun-to-drive" to only involve fast + tight handling cars? I don't think so!

Any car is fun to drive as long as it doesn't break down or take a toll on my legs and arms. Each car has its own ups and downs and I love exploring how each ones feel. However given a choice I would pick a Sedan over an SUV any day.

A question for forum members:

Doesn't less fatigue also add to the driving experience. Specially on extended drives. But the how does one quantifiably measure this?

The only quantification of comfort levels in cars that comes to mind is the H point - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/H-po...iture%20design.

I find great joy in my small, narrow, light Jimny with its naturally aspirated engine and go anywhere capability. It is wonderful to take the revs up to the max through each gear and charge up and down the hills and highways and country roads at a comfortable pace. I felt just the same in my Gypsy.

I find a great deal of satisfaction in my little Growler the Cooper S, particularly enjoying the burble of the exhausts on the overrun coming down the hills and playing with the paddle shifters.

And I thoroughly enjoy the floating, fatigue-free, noise-free drives in my Kona EV with its totally soundless, yet exhilaratingly aggressive acceleration, whether in the city or on the highways or in the hills.

As I have said before, it is decidedly NOT about Millions of BHP and Squillions of Torque and Gazillions of Top Speed.

The ‘Essence’ of Driving is the ‘Soul’ of the car, and the ‘feeling’ of the Open Roads, which makes you ‘one with the machine’ and puts you in that Zone of unparalleled happiness.
