Functional Lamborghini Huracán scale model built, powered by 110 cc engine

Thanks to Adarsh Pavithran for sending this in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts via this Team-BHP page!

Good day,

An MBA graduate from Idukki has made a functional model of a Lamborghini Huracan from scrap material. He has made the body using sunpack sheets. The model runs on a 110cc bike engine. He has also tried to make the car Lamborghini-like by adding a 45mm lift, disc brakes, front and back night vision cameras, etc.

It is really cool that he made such a model with just Rs. 2 lakh. I also heard that after hearing the news, officials from Lamborghini called him and congratulated him.

Re: Functional Lamborghini Huracán scale model built, powered by 110 cc engine

There are numerous videos circulating on YouTube. Should say, highly commendable job considering most of the accessories work.

Some highlights:
1) Approx cost is around 2L.
2) The body is made using discarded flex boards. Majority of the cost was for building a strong chassis.
3) Everything including the sunroof, power windows, axle lifter, headlights, camera, paddle shifters work. They have also installed a proper rear camera and front night vision camera.
4) Alloys wheels were custom made.

Yes, it is very much true.
It has a sunroof too, which is electrically controlled. He had used some car's power window module and it's components for the making.

It has its interior designed like a Lamborghini too, with many switches for electric controls, even for power windows, his car's lift kit, and the headlights.

It has a reverse parking camera too, with a small display, and I also believe that a speedometer is present in that, which uses the help of a mobile phone to display information.

For the steering part of it, he used Maruti 800's steering box and column.

There was also news that Lamborghini, Bangalore had called to congratulate him.

Kudos to the creator.

More curious, would such a car be road legal?

Fat chance, man. Best used as a toy on private property, especially in Kerala which has cracked down hard even on modified cars (related news).

On a related note, this guy from Kerala built a Beetle at his workshop. Powered by a bike engine.

Very cool, and very cool that Lamborghini S.p.A. called to congratulate him. Their enthusiasm for enthusiast continues to amaze me.

If this were a car from Maranello, those clowns would have sued him instead.

Superb effort. Great to be kept inside a farmhouse or a huge property and enjoyed. I highly doubt it would be street legal.

Outstanding. Love to see these guys fiddling and coming up these scale replica’s.

It’s easy to downplay this, but they have put a lot of effort and money into it, for primarily just their own fun and enjoyment. Way to go!

Unfortunately these talented guys might not find a position in design department of any automotive company just because they don't have academic degrees (assuming they don't possess degrees)
They are creative for sure and have the will to do something big. Even without academics these guys can be part of design protoshops where lot of physical experimentation happens. They can add a lot of value for sure.

The reason for my post was because I know a person who is a B.COM graduate but grew interested in Automotibiles as I used to talk about it. He borrowed Automobile books from me and read them in and out. Later he joined DC workshop for some years and left the job. One fine day he called me to witness his creation. He had bought a used mercedes with complex engine issues. He resolved those issues then chopped it off to make it a limousine. Made a refrigerated bar (using ac compressor) with moonlight roof and installed high end music system.
He tried a lot to get his car registered with RTO using all his contacts but still couldn't get it registered. (Probably DC was against it, I don't know)
I am not in touch with him now, although he is a commerce graduate but his automotive engineering skills are far better than many engineers who work in Design department of Automotive MNCs. I feel sorry for such valuable talent not getting enough opportunities. Sorry for the rant and being off-topic.
