The power figures are amazing. It's better than some vehicles from half a segment and a segment above(Eg: Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson, Ford Endeavour.)

Choice of 5seater or 7seater configuration?
Why would one have 5seater configuration while the length is that of 7seater?

Alos, Mahindra has plans to launch an all new 5 Seater in near future..probably the full-sized version of the current 300.

So this is a bit confusing.

IMO the grill is a bit overdone.
If I were to buy the 7OO, this is the first "mod" that I'll get done on it. Looks much better.

BTW, an all black edition would look sweet! :D

Here are a few things I noticed :
1. Auto dimming IRVM is conspicuous by its absence!!!! All these blingy tech, but not a simple item.
2.Ambiguity over the presence of ventilated seats. Although they show some footage of perforated seats, don't know if they're ventilated or not.
3.White seats are a major turnoff for me, personally at least.
4.Electric tailgate and paddle shifters should have been provided if you ask me. (Hector offers the former, the Koreans offer the latter)
5.Optional flush fit door handles is a good move. Wouldn't trust even a Toyota with those.

PS : I know that all the features will be revealed in a phased manner, but this is a preliminary observation. Really hope to see much more kit. Hoping for a cat among the pigeons.

The variant nomenclature ses.to be entirely created by engineers with no marketers having any involvement. MX and AX are downright confusing series names to choose:

Generally in the industry, the variants proceed alphabetically with the later alphabets reserved for higher variants. For example, Marutis' LXi/VXi/ZXi or Toyota's GX/VX/ZX or even Mahindra's own Thar with the AX and LX. Why on earth did they want to reverse it and confuse people even more?

The choice of M and A gives the impression of Manual versus Automatic. This is not the intent, obviously! One more thing to explain to customers. Looks like M&M wants to keep Sales Agent jobs secure in their showrooms by creating so much complexity with the variant spread that trained SAs can clarify all the mysteries of the variants.

Why create sib-variants under AX? Can they not accommodate these as PX/QX/RX or use some such overall descriptor? So now you have a mouthful to describe your car -e.g. "Hi, I just bought an XUV 700 AX series and the 5 trim!"

Can someone please tell me what is the difference between side airbags and curtain airbags?

2021 and Mahindra still struggling to get the design right. The exterior simply looks incoherent, fragmented and broken.

Mahindra XUV700 in two colors, the blue which is showcased during the unveil and the other which looks like the starry Night colour from Hyundai cars.

So much hype for a car that looks similar to its younger sibling xuv 500 from every angle. Ofcource its loaded with active and passive safetly systems along with a long feature list. Why not just give a 4×4 system as an option atleast since they have that technology inhouse by negating few features to keep the price low. Just an opinion and am sure it will have decent sales. Now I just hope they mantain the Scorpio dna and not dilute its looks with too many features with no 4×4 even as an option.

Sir I think you have seen the launch of some other vehicle🙂
AWD aka 4x4 is available as an option.

Not sure but I think I saw Adaptive Cruise control as a feature - would that be a first?

Instead of drooling over features, we should be concerned about the overall length which doesn't look longer than the XUV 500. How is this going to be a spacious 7 seater? I hope the 3rd row is usable for adults and the boot has some space in the 7 seater.

Side airbags - deployed from seat
Curtain airbags - deployed from A/B/C pillars

AWD is not a proper 4×4 and yes I did see the launch buddy. A simple yet robust MLD like the new Bolero Neo as standard would have been nice but then the chassis is only suited for an AWD.

Would like to apologise for my lack of knowledge.🙂
