Skoda Auto is presenting the first official picture of the new Skoda Octavia on 30 January. The new Octavia is the all-new successor to the popular Skoda model of the same name, nearly 1,000,000 of which have been sold since the Octavia’s introduction in 1996.
The Skoda Octavia is a brand-new car using modern technology to deliver an "extra bit of car". It was designed and engineered at Skoda’s technical centre at its headquarters in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic. The car is 4,572 mm long, 1,769 mm wide and 1,462 mm high. The basic luggage-compartment capacity amounts to 560 litres with the folding rear seats in place.

The new Octavia will be available with a choice of six engines. These include the 1.4 MPI/55 kW and 1.6 MPI/75 kW petrol engines, as well as the 1.6 FSI/85 kW and 2.0 FSI/110 kW direct injection petrol engines. The range of diesel engines includes two fuel-efficient four-cylinder engines, the 1.9 TDI PD/77 kW and 2.0 TDI PD/103 kW.

The new Skoda Octavia will make its first public appearance at the 2004 Geneva International Motor Show on 2 March.

I like the rear quarter view, but the front totally sucks. It does not have the character of the current Octavia.

I agree with GTO.

The front doesnt seem to have that solid image the current octavia projects. Though its not bad, might take a little getting used to. I dont like the alloys in the pic and that plays a big role in the looks of a car.

Its good to see they the engine choices. The 2.0 TDI sounds like a kicker!

cheers

Reminds me of the new Volvos.

Well, if it rides good, certainly might take a little bit of getting used to it. VW do not have a very good reputation for reliability. Wonder how good the Czechs are it.

More and more options for the Indian consumer - Bring 'em on !
