Does anyone know who the RTO application managment is outsourced to? MoRTH says they it will be an online registration after a NOC from the local RTO. I dont know how each of these is going to work.

As far as I know the Vahan / Parivahan system used for registrations is hosted and controlled by NIC which is a government agency.

Looks like it's officially launched in Odisha from today.

Anyone has any update on Karnataka? There is nothing in the news. Also checked the RTO portal but as expected no information

Honda. The SA yesterday told me that it will be implemented from 16th but called today and informed that the RTO folks had some discussions yesterday and have kept it on hold for now. Not sure what is happening exactly.

Just had a call with a Tata dealership in Jaipur. Though the SA knew full details of BH series and confirmed my eligibility, he had no clue on how to apply for the BH registration. He apparently checked with some RTO contacts who informed that the implementation hasn't yet started.

Really strange that there has been no mention of this scheme on the MORTH social channels or websites, even when their own circular mentioned 15th Sep to be the implementation date.

Yes. Similar scenario here. I called up on the general inquiry number given on the Kerala MVD website and the guy who picked up the call shamelessly informed me that it is a wrong number. Such lethargy lol:. I tried the PRO number from the website who said they are not the correct authority and asked me to call at the same number I tried earlier(wrong number guy). After a few back and forth table tennis phone calls with our cliche lazy babus, I called it quits for the day. Have asked the SA to update just in case any update comes up regarding the same.

Bought my car in Gurgaon, with normal HR-26 registration
Moving car to BNG

Where should I submit BH series application? BNG or GGN?

My big confusion is that isnt this applicable nationwide? Then how is Odisha implementing it first.

Also, can I apply via Odisha? :D

It should be applicable nationwide, but I think based on the details published in the gazette as of now, it doesn't talk about the process of re-registering a car under BH series. So its mostly for new registration, and the process for that too isn't clear as of now.

But anyway in your case, even if you can switch to BH series, as you've already paid the road tax and got a number, you'd probably have to apply for BH series once you are in Bangalore and then get a proportionate refund from HR-26 RTO ie follow the usual registration transfer process.

Also, one other thing is, even if your company has offices in 4 or more states/UTs, you'd still need to apply for it from the state where you are currently working and where you have a valid address proof.

This is such a bad example set by the Central and State govts. It's past deadline and the RTOs don't even know about this. We are already paying hefty sum in taxes just to own and maintain a car, but still have to struggle for this basic right.

I don’t think this option is available for already registered vehicles yet. They are rolling it out in the first pass only for new vehicles.

Actually its the other way round, existing vehicles will be given preference since state govts are figuring out taxation.

The notice from MORTH clearly mentioned the provision of tax refund in case LTT is paid.

Can you point out the section within the notice you are talking about? Also see the image that I attached.

Check this tweet from morth, it has the notice which mentions the process of re-registering existing vehicles.

Your screenshot is from PIB, you may want to check the docs MORTH is publishing

But agreed, need to wait and watch for existing vehicles.

I find it surprising that there's no new 'news' on this matter. A simple search online will throw results from the last 2-3 weeks, with articles written by different newspapers with 'almost' the same content - which is basically copy-pasted from the official notice issued by MORTH.

I want to re-register my UP16 car in Bangalore before my NOC expires. I was waiting for this BH thing to happen, but with the current pace and attitude of our Govt. I don't think it will be implemented any time soon.

Btw, anyone knows a good agent in Bangalore East RTO (KA03)?

Buddy, these links say exactly what I have been saying in the previous posts. Currently, this scheme is for new vehicles.

Where are you reading the process of re-registering existing vehicles to BH number plate?
If you go through the twitter Morth link, then you will see the content of PIB notice I shared and this notice is same. It's funny how you and I are looking at the same thing but interpreting in exactly opposite ways.

The tweet below from Morth should settle it I guess. I took this from the second link you shared.
